If you play on console, you 1000% need to switch to the Builder Pro layout. It will take awhile to get used to, but it will improve your building 10 fold. And building is probably the most important aspect of this game. Obviously there’s a bunch of other factors, but building is the most important for sure. On console, every other button layout you have to scroll through your mats (building material) then place the piece, then scroll again if you want a different piece. On Builder Pro, each piece (stairs, wall, floor, etc) are mapped to your shoulder buttons. This is huge for building and why it’s so much easier to build on a M&K.
You can have the best aim on the planet, but if you don’t build or aren’t good at it, you will be at a huge disadvantage in nearly every scenario. The only time/places where it’s not a huge factor is early game, specifically early game in places like Tilted Towers. Because most people early game aren’t gonna have much if any materials to build with, unless they get lucky and find a Llama early.
This game is amazing and you improve every time you play. But definitely watch the pro/top players and essentially just copy what they do. You’ll improve even faster.
