First video games

So another thread is talking about all the newest games and what are good. So I thought I'd ask, what gaming system was the FIRST you ever played on?

I'll start off. I've been playing video games since I was really young. Not well mind you but I tried. The first games I ever played where on an Odyssey2: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnavox_Odyssey_2
Games: http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Magnavox_Odyssey_2_games

So before I ever played pacman, I was playing KC Munchin, KCs Krazy Chase, Attack of the Time Lords, Killer Bees and some others.

Also played a lot of games on a Commador 64, including text based games like Zork.

So, where did everyone else start?

ZAQ, is that a dedicated MineStorm machine, or was it cart based?

CitizenSnips. That's interesting. I had a NES, and later a SNES, but I felt like there were fewer games I liked on the SNES (sitll alot, but the NES had tons). The SNES was also the last console I owned until the Wii, which my wife bought for me, which got me back into consoles.

My career as a gamer started out on this: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_N5VYaU-tcbw/SxT8GNLTweI/AAAAAAAAHRA/Et1m2Jgl5Rg/s1600/rush_KLOV.jpg

My cousin had a Rush'N Attack cab at my grandma's place, and she used to watch while I was young...so I played this while I was there. Then I went on to NES when we finally got one when I was like 3-ish. Been gaming ever since.

I think my years of playing on an actual arcade cab is why when I switched over to stick for most games, it's the most comfortable controller ever lmao.

Then came NES and old PC for me.

Good times!

Well when I had the SNES I was like 3? Basically all the games I had/played were my brother's (who is 4 years older). We had TMNT4 which was amazing, and bunch of awesome games including this one with a bazooka and you shot robots or something. Then my mom threw it away because we told her our controller broke lolol

The first system I ever played on was NES when I was like 2. First game was the first Mario.

The first console I ever touched was the obsolete Sega Genesis system, and these were my first three games for it:

1. Sonic the Hedgehog, the debut title of the series since 1991.

2. Mortal Kombat, also its debut title since 1992.

3. Ms. Pac-Man, a version inspired by the arcades featuring the male Pac-Man.

Man, I miss my Genesis...

I think the generation of 87-89 basically are the console gaming generation. I was given a Nintendo and never looked back. I think I was around 5... when I was given a Sega and Sonic the Hedgehog. I love games.

My first console was the atari 2600 which sucked because the NES had allready been out for some time. The first game I played might have been outrun on an arcade machine. I later got lots of consoles. Sega mastersystem, megadrive, SNES. Because I had next to no money, I went to a broker and exchanged consoles and games many times. I remember trading 4 games to get MK2 for megadrive!

Pac Man cocktail cabinet at a pizza place was my first video game ever.

first time i played a video game console at a family friends house was Double Dribble on the NES. Been hooked since.

I got a NES system with John Elway's Quarterback and WWF Wrestlemania. Soon got Double Dribble and TMNT after that.

Fuck this dog, man! I couldn't have been the only little kid who wanted to unload their zapper into his ass?

Yeah, the dog from Duck Hunt is one of the biggest assholes in gaming history. If I win the lottery, I'm building an old school arcade. Tempest, Galaga, Double Dragon, Punch Out, Rampage, and Gauntlet will be in it.

Ya, that's how old I was for the Oddesy. So did she know the controller could be replaced or was it one of those "tough you broke it you lost it" things? I firsted played TMNT4 in an acarde, then I got it on SNES. Awesome game!

No way! All my friends had consoles growing up. Most were NES, but many of us went to NES after Atari (never had the 2600). I think you're like 10 years too late for the console gaming generation.

Ha, MK and MK2 and 3 on the SNES. My cousin and one of my friends had Sega MS; MK was better on it even though it was the cart (blood!) and I loved Altered Beast.

LOL, I totally forgot about that game! That cab sounds like it will be epic, lots of great games!

Great stuff everyone, keep it coming!

My first console: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dendy_(console)
My first game:

Man, this game took me some 10-20 mins to start, sometimes I didn't even start it because I didn't know any English and that "Input your name" screen I just was pressing arrows and start until I got the "End" button and got further. At that time, I understood that End means get outta here and start the race LoL
This game is awesome. It had a sprint in the beginning of the race to see who'll be on the big screen and when the players got in the same part of the road they appeared on one screen and you could crash into one another to take lead. Man, good time, playin' this game for hours, days even with my brother. Frustration, fights, pride...
Also, NES games seemed soo realistic at that time...
