Fingerstyle Guitar: good for gaming?

I have several friends, and myself, that play guitar and coincidentally they are very skillful MK players.
The sense of timing, finger dexterity, coordination, etc.. could help getting better at fighting games?

In fact, perhaps knowing any musical instrument can develop skills that are also useful for fighting games

It helps with execution but thats a small part of what it takes to be a good FG player. I play bass with fingers and I have certainly notice my execution is better than it used to be.
