I like to play bad characters
I don't think we'll ever see a parry that AA's based off NRS's history. are you guys looking at getting an AA throw like Kotal style? I'm honestly a bit surprised a grappler doesn't have some form of AA or in the air throw. But if they added a move like that the damage would have to be lowered IMO. I actually think the current parry has great risk reward for the damage you get and like it that way. It's the best one in the game IMO for its speed & damage. Why change that?

the parry is REALLY good. 4 frames on norm and 2 on EX. there are DEFINITELY gaps around that we should be exploring and punishing with it. Air Kano ball might as well be an air throw as far as Im concerned. Thing is so good lol.

All this overhead talk is pointless and unnecessary. All he needs is ex knives to be minimum plus 10

Yes please. At the game's current state, Cybernetics needs more plus frames on Ex knives. If Kano gets a tweak or two that he deserves.. I'll counter match ups with all of his variations. I love the bastard what can I say.
 
I honestly prefer the high parrys operating as AA's over getting OH buffs for commando variation. I think it would bring more depth to matchups vs characters with strong jump in pressure.
Yeah, I mean just imagine some guy trying to do crossover jump punches only to get parried. That would FORCE the cast to respect and fear his positioning. I feel the same way about Sub Zero's ice parry in Unbreakable. If you have a an input command move like circle away 1, it should have priority over some brain dead jump around crap.
 
Make the ex knives plus on block almost similar to Shinnok Hellspark. Let us pressure with the same style block string. Place the blocking opponent in a staggered animation state allowing a run down.

you wont stagger if you block low I believe. Gonna post this to remember to test, but I know dvorah has a move like that, where if you block it crouching you wont stagger but if you stand block you'll stagger. So there's some stuff that's actually punishable only if you block it low to prevent stagger. Hellsparks wont be like that because of the pushback but possible to maybe sneak a Cybernetic knife in there after?
 
The EX knives should do that doubled over stomache ache animation which restands that Raiden applies in the middle of his BnB combo. The one where he jabs and kicks them in the gut and cancels his projectile to re-engage. Also stagger them on block so it makes Meter Burning the move worth it.

I'm going to have to disagree here. That should remain the way it is. If 1 or 3 knives hit it should be a knockdown. If 2 hits you can have a restand

It trades like that with Jacqui Full auto guns right now if you both input at the same time EX knives will get 2 hits on her and you'll only get hit by 1 rep of her projectile.

instead of an OH?

I'm fine with counter the way it is to be honest, great punish with great risk involved, but if successful that life bar demoralizes the opponent real quick, I also too often wish it countered jumpins... just thinking what if, but...
countering a jumpin would be a pretty eazy read dont you think? I think upball would be the better flyswater if given priority

After meditating on the OH, I think the best route would be his 2 f3, f3 being the OH (and 2 hitting mid be great)
reason being, I think it would make much more use in having a seperate low string and seperate OH string
the b3 string is already beast as is
If they are going to give us one, and only one, I think this would be the best choice

also 2 f3 looks like its pose to be and OH originally too and was changed, already knocks down the opponent and everything, only thing they would have to change is make it blockable only by standing block

what ya'll think? upball fixed priority, still want to counter jumpins? If only one OH what really would work best? Be reasonable too guys, I think I can say we are all on the same page and don't want to make Kano overpowered

Idk if you guys saw the leaked predator footage but one of the variations showed a very fast projectile accompanied by a very nice looking up beam and low beam. That's probably where I'm going
he also has extractable blades
but damn he's ugly

Still on the fence about Kano needing an OH on all variations but damn would it feel good to incorporate that into our arsenal. Better priority on up ball would be sick because I'd actually be able to stop Kotal and the rest of this cast who have Dhalsim like jump ins from getting onto me with a full run in combo for free basically. Then again if up ball is functioning the way it was meant to, which I can probably see why after playing Kano so much.. AA Laser could use the tweaking. EX KNIVES NEED TO ACT LIKE KITANA'S FIREBALL IN MOURNFUL VARIATION OR +9 MINIMUM. Please... We need to compete slightly with the rest.

This isn't a joke thread. You don't have to like it or agree with anything being discussed. It might have gone off topic with other discussions involving opinions but this character has a few design bugs. Buffs are most likely being discussed because many kano players feel as if he might get left in the dust if NRS finds interest in upgrading others.

you are right i shouldn't have let my emotions talk for me about my first impression of the thread. i actually i do agree this problems should be fix

but damn some people here are out of their mind with the buffed they are suggesting

Honestly think people are wasting their time asking for so many different AAs, this is not really a big issue for Kano.

Throwing out ideas here, but maybe air laser could be turned into a combo extender for already juggled opponents if ground laser hasn't been used yet.

A command throw launcher would certainly improve the character. relying on that MB ball cancel isn't something I like doing as a grappler.

i see nothing wrong with asking for improvements to my characters afterall its up to NRS to decide what they want to add. its when you start asking for nerfs and trying to break someone else characters, that you likely dont know nearly enough as the person that actually plays them, then it becomes the issue.

think of this as a fantasy thread everyone has a different idea for how the character should be and they're expressing it. not like it will hurt anything.

Seriously though... When would it have been a good time to use AA Laser? The move needs tweaking if any cyber players want to bother using it :(

Nobody is arguing the invalidity of Uplaser. Ya'll keep bringin' it up but we get it LOL. However in the clip you posted there was only like 1 or 2 blatant AA opportunities I saw and woulda been easily handled by B1. I'm tellin' you guys. Uplaser is straight up redundant. It needs to pop up for juggle or just be like SUPER fast with no juggle afterwards . Combo extender would be cool as well. SOME usefulness lol.
