The PS2 controller I had for a while... The adapter I got off of Amazon for $5..... If you're talking about another control, it wasn't mine...
I'm sure you kan pick up a PS2 controller from a lot of places, like Gamestop or Amazon..

My wired control with flat triggers = PS2 control with adapter..

Adapter is ~$5 (a little less) on Amazon.com.. Just search for "PS2 to PS3" and it should pop up.

The control itself is ~$15 on Amazon.. Though they do have some generic brands (which I cannot really recommend) which are cheaper...
I'd personally go with the Sony made control as I wouldn't want to take the risk, but the generic brand ones do cost less than 50% of the price of the Sony's.
