It seems that ex dive kick is actually really useful at pushing opponents back into far ice bombs. This has great setup potential to mix things up.

i noticed this, but its really no different to regular divekick into a close bomb, except you risk a meter before you know if the combo hits or not, and I'm pretty sure it's dependant on the corner stopping them at the right spot as well
