They did confirm that Kombat Kast is coming back. Which is what I was hoping for. Just wish they had said a date for the first one.

I think he's trying to draw the distinction that this is an entirely new Mortal Kombat universe, if I'm understanding things correctly. They're not really rebooting or redoing MK1 with all of the OG MK1 stories, it sounds like this is going to be it's own completely new thing. Less a reboot and more a reset, if that makes sense.

Yeah, I just mean that he was trying to say it's entirely new even tho it is a continuation of MK11 cause it picks up from Liu's ending

It's not in the same way that Mortal Kombat (2011) wasn't a continuation of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

The previous game still happened and set up the current game's story, but it's going in the direction of a whole new story arc.

I haven't watched this, but are they talking about basically taking the MK setting and character concepts, but changing the "personality" of them into something different?

For example, from the trailer, Scorpion and Sub-Zero return but they don't seem to have the same history . Or like Raiden is there, but he's more like just a dude. Etc.?

Ed specifically mentions they change their relationships.
So in the trailer it looks like Scorpion and Sub Zero are brothers, and Mileena might be Kitana's bodyguard
