Something was supposed to happened this weekend, wasn't it? When's the last time REO showed up like a sith lord to take your money? When's the last time CD Jr put his skills where his mouth is? Oh, and Canada might show up to crash the party. Do we have your attention now? This weekend is "OPERATION WOLF" in Red Bank, New Jersey from 7PM EST to 2AM EST or TST. REO and CD Jr are both confirmed as well as top Canadian players and many more to wreak havoc on East Coast. To be streamed via www.twitch.tv/KombatNetwork

We've put a little preview together for you to give you an idea of the ridiculousness that will go down (weather permitting) between some New Yorker's and a few folks from Canada. This event is expecting close to 60 Mortal Kombat players... and yes, this is a Mortal Kombat exclusive shindig.

REO - Some might call him a Mortal Kombat legend... because he is. He's a prominent master in all Mortal Kombat games and is the current top player in Mortal Kombat 9. His primary character is Kabal with an army of hidden secondaries lurking in the shadows. REO is known to break characters by welcoming all aspects of the game, taking his skills to the highest level. If you beat REO, he might break a smile. Good luck.

CD Jr - At one time, he beat REO more than anyone else. In fact, some might call these two in grand finals "boring" because it's happened so many times. CD Jr started off between Rain and Jax and has since gravitated towards Kabal and Kung Lao. In his most recent success he placed 3rd at NEC and 2nd at EVO and has been more involved in other fighting games since. It's safe to say that REO will be one of his biggest challenges, but will Jr be up to speed?

Maxter - A brother of CD Jr and potentially the best Cyrax in the world. He is one of the East Coast's most consistent top players along with REO and CD Jr, who placed 2nd to REO at NECXIII and in the top 5 of his last 4 tournaments including MLG. Maxter is notorious for his Cyrax damage and resets on a competitive level and always has a secondary lined up for special occasions. Last year, his brother CD Jr won Revolution X... it's Maxter's time to show CD Jr things have changed from a year ago.

Jer - An underdog from Canada will be traveling to YesterCades for "OPERATION WOLF" to crash the party. Between his tournament activity in Canada and the United States, he's made a reputation for himself as being a Mileena to remember. Will his training with Canada be enough for New York's finest?

zaf1.jpg
zaf - It's safe to say that he is one of the top Ermac players in North America and he made that clear during his pop-off after eliminating EGP Tyrant's Jax at NECXIII. zaf, who is primarily an Ermac player has done things at tournaments that always have people watching his matches closely. Expect the unexpected this weekend as zaf will be traveling from Canada with Jer to "OPERATION WOLF".

Insuperable - Once upon a time he played a sorcerer and still does. He rose from the steets of the "Valley Stream Monsters" long ago and has been an avid tournament player since. He's been spotted recently playing other characters like Jax, but it's difficult to say who he will be playing this weekend. Perhaps, he'll return to Quan Chi... one thing is for certain though, he will be unleashing his Kratos (along with J360) on REO during the "Kratos Gauntlet" taking place this weekend.

See these guys and many, many more this weekend. Will someone finally break REO's winning streak?

This tournament is going to be HYPE and definitely Regional status considering there will be at least 5 states and two countries represented. I'm ordering PIZZA tomorrow. 15 pies should do? Expecting 50 to 60 players, could be more! 5 tournament stations (4 pools, 1 stream) and 3 all day casuals will be set up. I know we will be strict on time so I'm making sure those casual stations are in fact available during the entire tournament, which generally we don't have availability to do. Once we reach top 8, all 4 pools will be open for casuals. Don't forget to take advantage of the 75 arcade machines and 16 pinball machines in the building, as the freeplay access is the majority of that $15 venue fee. Free day pass prizes will be given out at the end of the night, and top 8 will all get placement awards, from acrylic, to plaques, to medals, and in addition, event dog tags for all.

Stream time should be 8PM for KombatNetwork.

Good luck to all those attending Operation Wolf! Have a great time!

It is so unfortunate that financial issues prevent me from attending.

Operation Wolf = MK tourney...most notable tv having guitar hero being played in the picture. GGs TYM
The TV by Art had MK9, we were setting that up at that point, since the TVs are all connected to YC's consoles.
