The most fun I had in that game was when my energy gauge was completely full and so was my friend's. We would do the dodge teleport until one of us either ran out of energy or timed it wrong and got hit. THAT was the best part of the game.

Then there were the beam battles. Man, I'm surprised our controllers lasted as long as they did. We rotated the SHIT out of our analog sticks to win those battles.

Nothing like running out of breath during and after it and being like, "omfg, I can't press my buttons to attack you anymore."

Where do I begin? Sigh... Man i dont even know how to explain how shitty this games were. Just make then close to real 2d or 3d fighting games thats all it needs.

IMHO guys, Budokai 3 IS the best DBZ game by far, some say it's Infinite World but I never played that one.
But yeah, if they were to make an actual DBZ fighting game I'd prefer it be like MvC..... VERY fast paced.... Or like BlazBlue..

None of that stupid Tenkaichi shit where it's all about how many God damn characters they can cram into the game. The same character turning into Super Saiyan 1, 2, 3 and 4 should NOT count as four separate characters. It's one character with 5 (Kaioken) transformations.

It's not bad...just rushed. Competitive wise, the game is pretty much more diverse than Budokai 3.

Shin Budokai was sleeper good. Only reason it was overlooked was because it wasn't on a console. It makes all other DBZ fighters look pretty bad on a competitive scale, tbh.

Praying for a Shin Budokai 3.

Yeah, by half-assed I mean it seemed rushed, I mean, the main menu didn't even have sound. It was like Budokai 3 with improved gameplay mechanics but everything else was stripped, which might've been fine if the game had an online mode.

Budokai + PS2 online = thank god it didn't exist.

Budokai series is literally one of those games where just-frame shit is EVERYTHING eventually. Like, literally, you don't get the maximum out of the cancel system until you can cancel stuff on or very close to the first possible cancel frame, and be able to let go of block instantaneously. Online would've been horrendous on PS2.

Petition NRS to get in on this chit so they can bring a REAL DBZ fighter to life. Playing Raging Blast 2 as we speak. So weird to actually call this a fighting game.

Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai 3 were pretty cool and competitive, honestly by far the best and the most decents versions of a competitive dragon ball Z, aftert hose 2, everyone one released after is just pure shit.

LBSH as good as the graphics and gameplay the DBZ games has been and how good Budokai 3 was I know deep down that if they mad a DBZ game like MvC 1 it would have been awesome. My question is why did they make it like that to begin with?

3D fighters were the rage, I guess. It made for an interesting system, though.

In all honesty, DBZ is meant to be an airdasher fighting game. It just fits it to the 5th degree. I don't understand why it's taken a fangame to have one.

Yeah pretty much, since it was the 90's and ppl thought when the yr 2000 hit everything was going to be "Futuristic" and 3D was gonna be a gamechanger which it did lol. True, it is mostly fighting in the air rather than traditional games that are always on the ground. Ikr, but whoever made that Hyper Dragonball Z game which I know was on M.U.G.E.N did a pretty damn good job. Most of the characters moves in that video were taken from Street Fighter Alpha, but Im not complaining though heheh.

I was actually about to mention this one. I WISH it woulda picked up. I had a lot of fun with SUPER DBZ. Closest we got to a real fighting game. We found some broken crap in that game. I would say thought that Majin Vegeta woulda been banned, he had permanent super saiyan which was essentially "x factor" but never ran out.
The ones I enjoyed the most in my lifetime:

Dragonball Legends
Dragonball GT Final Bout (played the original 130 dollar game WAAAYYY back and then owned the US re-release)
Budokai (lets face it, was the first one we all bought it)
Budakai 3
Super DBZ
Battle of Z
I like "seeing" Hyper DBZ.

Hell. Even Naruto games suffer from this kinda crap. You could make that into a legit 2D or 2.5D fighter. NOPE..of course not -_-
