It's a pretty fun game. It's like a cross of Mass Effect, Fable, and Oblivion. It takes some strategy to win the battles, which is nice for replay value. I'd advise not to play on the harder difficulties mainly because of friendly fire.
Fun game, I agree that it's a buy. You can't beat it via rental, I don't think.
