Do we want a walkspeed change in IGAU?

The only thing that makes zoning good in this is the lack of walkspeed making footsies in favor of the defensive, with this jchange perhaps the regular dashes should be toned down a bit to balance it out, people call this an amazing zoning game but i ask you which character has real sustainable keep away? batman? black adam? mmh and zod? yes to a degree but ba's keepaway is good because of backdash and trait... mmhs only guaranted chip tool is db2 and zod has stupid execution... its more of a mobilitity game

The soul of every good 2D fighting game can be defined in one word.

Spacing.

In good 2D fighting games, high level play revolves around knowing the range of your opponents moves, and your moves, and controlling your spacing so that you minimise your risk while maximise your offensive opportunities.

A good game allows you to play this game to the fullest, and explore all it's subtleties.

That's why decent anti airs are a must- because jumps that are unpunishable threaten to nullify the entire ground spacing game, and significantly reduce the potential spacing games that players can play.

By that same measure, walk speeds are important, because walking gives players the most precise and safe way to control their spacing.

So increasing walk speeds, just like buffing anti airs, is one of those adjustments that, done properly, will make IJ a better game by enriching the spacing games that players can play.

I agree with everything here, but buffing walk speeds will do nothing for this game where there really aren`t any good normal attacks to use as spacing tools. It`s just combo strings and 50-50s with totally safe (sometimes advantage!) Down1´s .

Where's the "I don't care because it's not going to change the game all that much anyways, and it doesn't matter what they do because you're going to find something else to complain about even if you get what you want" poll option?
 
While they're at it, throw in dash cancels. Being stuck committed to the whole animation especially with characters like Harley is gay as fuck.

Zoning is fucking retarded in this game. I took a 4 month break and came back to Injustice. It's the same old bull shit as before. I think I'll stick to SSF4, UMVC3, and Mortal Kombat. This game blows.

Edit - The movement in this game is the clunkiest out of any fighter that I have ever played.

I don't walk speed to change because it would get rid of my inherient advantage of having top two walk speeds in the game plus it would make the game real different and I would have to relearn it. I think it is a little lay in the game for bug system changes like this.
I would prefer if the game became less vortex filled instead of faster walk speed.

They're done doing anything to Injustice.

They specifically made the game so they could change frame data without patches. We might get a HOTFIX not a patch they can't change big things. It would make no sense for them not to take advantage of that. It might be awhile but I think we can expect to see one on the games anniversary or something.

by the votes i see im massively outnumbered but im kinda way way beyond caring about walk speed. i think at this point it would imbalance the game even further. we should just play what we got here with Ij cos i think nothing is gonna make the game much better than it is

Some characters have extremely short ranged normals, it's going to ruin some of the cast.
I'd much prefer being able to cancel my dash for a special.

Oh and once you enter the corner, there's no way of getting out...

Too late and you would have to re-balance the whole game to fit the adjusted walk speed. I do agree that Inj does favor lame play style not necessary just zoning but just overall being lame because how the mobility is, and also the games movement just feels clunky. Playing injustice and enjoying it all comes down to playing inj without your pre condition perception on how past 2d games played. Well, for a time that's how I thought to enjoy it.

So speaking about walkspeed I've noticed so far

1. Hawkgirl's walkspeed is actually one of the fastest I think..I really can't think of anyone who has the same or better. I think this is something I'm going to test out, walk speed.

2. Some characters can do weird backstepping (rather than
Double tap for backdash, rhythmically tap back and some characters move slightly faster walking backwards) I notice this with superman and harley they do an awkward shimmy which allows them to move back faster.

If they did speed up walkspeed it wouldn't detriment zoning imo. It would make zoners become more honest rather than spamming freely with small consquences
