And Deadpool is a rip-off. You guys can't be serious buying that "oh, we made him as a parody tee-hee" sell-out of a comment. It's a business, of course they want you to believe that.
Here's the problem with your statement: A rip-off would imply that Deadpool's popularity can be solely attributed to traits he stole from Deathstroke. I would understand the frustration if Deadpool was popularized by becoming a "bad-ass old dude" who beat up on the Avengers, but that's diametrically opposed to the Deadpool that has become somewhat of a pop culture/memetic phenomenon.
Deadpool is popular because of his self-awareness, outlandishly comical behavior and mental instability.
For the record, I don't even like Deadpool or Deathstroke.
