Current status of input errors

These are my observations, I feel like they are pretty close to how it works, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

With the previous patch they tried to address the input errors caused by the buffer window being way too big. Usually this could be turned off by turning off negative edge in other games. Their soloution was to make the input shortcut option no longer store directions when set to off. Since the direction isnt stored a special move can no longer be buffered accidentially from crouching. Thats also the problem now, a special move can no longer be purposefully buffered from crouch with this option off, now u must return to neutral, visibly wasting frames and causing your movement to become more choppy.

WIth the inputs on, the game will execute stuff on its own. With the inputs off the game makes u click a "are u sure" box before doing what u want. Either way you getting punished as i see it.

I don't understand why this game has so much issues with this, what happened between mk and injustice to have this go so garbage?

Can we as a community decide that out of all the stuff that needs addressing this is of the most important? Like really, if you don't agree why the hell not?

Also as a note, I'm not talking about linking b3's f3's or whateva, execution will always have a place in fighting games, if an indivisidual character has some ridiculous execution for no reason, that still has to do with the character, tym has buff threads in every character forum by now, please voice those concerns there as these are 2 different issues.

I personally don't have any issues with inputs and I've always played on a DS4 with input shortcuts on so it's nowhere near the top of my list

However a lot of people seem to be having problems with it so they probably do need some work

I still have issue with inputs. Most of the time it's either something doesn't come out, or something comes out I don't want. Rubbish.

The current input system is like choose your lesser of two evils. Input shortcut on let you do special, reversal or complicate inputs consistently while the buffer is to big. Input shortcut off means kissing goodbye to the more complicate inputs.

Exactly awkward inputs like dfb shouldn't exist. NRs games are more about knowing when to do it rather than if you can do it.
 
They've fixed some of the more crucial bugs and addressed some core issues, but there's still nuances and weird things in there.

I don't know if we'll see fixes for everything, as I'm sure some of it is working as intended, but hopefully they'll refine things
 
I haven't really had any problems after I switched to a Hitbox. That's even with input shorcuts on. Probably just because I can be a lot more precise with my inputs and letting go of the d button is a lot easier than on a pad.

Ye they still pretty gimped, f2 from sub after crouch blocking move? Nope have this iceball :( when I was reading threads after recent patch with players (some if them well known tourney players not just blazing4204lfe) talking about how inputs fixed now I was wondering what the fuck the were on and then the sheep factor kicked in :/

Yea, with shortcuts off, it's hard as hell to do DB2 out of blockstrings and on wakeup which gimps my char pretty bad. So I play with them on and rage when I get air grab instead of D1 because that's usually better than not being able to wakeup :(
