Exactly this. From my perspective execution should be a reward. Coming from Tekken for example, I am rewarded for being capable of performing Taunt Cancels with Bryan, one of the hardest things to do into combos in the game, with huge benefits. If you cannot Taunt Cancel with him the character drops from Top/High Tier to Mid Tier. Imo this is excellent design. Accessible to the casual, but takes skill, execution, and rock solid strategy to play as a high tier.
Now translate that to MKX where I'm currently using D'Vorah and Johnny. Yes it's my option to use such characters, but I strongly despise that there are characters who require much less practice/execution/strategy but are much more effective. It would be like being the best worker at your job but the dude who comes in late slacking gets the raise. Why does he get more benefit for less? Shitty design, that's what.
In a perfect world "dash for easy +frame pressure" would not be as strong an overall character as HQT is. So when I'm nailing A-List cancels or D'Vorah Bug Cancels and some dude at my local is dashing for +frames then yes, I'm going to roll my eyes. It's disgusting to me. I think I can smell the game at times. Especially when the same dude has the nerve to complain about something being hard to deal with or a MU.
