What's new

CLEVELAND, OH: or the "I'm willing to drive there" thread.

the Cleveland scene no longer has any leadership since console combat folded. myself and manny had life issues (I was getting married, having kids, bought a house and Manny was in graduate school). We no longer could put in the tremendous time or effort to keep things going. It was a thankless job and people demanded more and more while demanding things to be free. We catered to pro and casuals alike.

Unfortunately, nobody in the area is willing to step up and there are a lot of little factions in Cleveland. Most are just content being the best in their city and crap talking.

Chris Ghaleon made a strong attempt to revise the scene but then you had the 5fog guys hold events ON THE EXACT SAME DAYS AS CLEVELAND CLASH. Clash had its dates set in stone before the 5fog guys announced their events.

The scene is fractured beyond repair and until someone steps up and has a consistent weekly that is central and free and a once a month tournament it will continue to be dead in Cleveland. We used to have 100-150 travel from MI, PA, and other surrounding states for our monthly and ~40 show up for the weekly.

A small group of us meet for NRS games/SFV and take it serious. (Forever King, King Jr, THTB, M2Dave, Master D, Dave, Kompetitor, grills, others).
