Just some thoughts:

I feel that it's time for this community(excuse the generalization) to outgrown the constant patch begging and start focusing on improving on the game. I understand this behavior based on past games, but i think MK11 is the by far most legit NRS game in terms of balance and mechanics out of the gate. Before you ask, im a dedicated Kotal Kahn player(Till my Fujin arrives:coffee:). When i started playing, i was losing a lot and the first thing i did with every defeat was to blame the character(or complain about the other character) till i decided focus on my mistakes and my character strenghts. I've been improving a lot ever since, even my matches feel much more satisfying to play.

I want the game to be the best it can be, and it definitely can be better, but if all you can do is complain and wait for a patch to happen, the week after it happens you will find something new to complain about.

I have my share of things that i would like to be adressed currently, but i think that new ideas, constructive criticism, and asking for insights is what will make the game thrive, instead of screaming about how everything sucks.

We've been going round in circles with constructive criticism for 3 months.

People act like pleasing the non pro scene is unnecessary and pandering but those people are the life blood of the whole game.

What should a game be. Fun

What is online mk11. Getting my dick punched by geras or erron drop kicking me from half way across screen on repeat.

Waiting 4 months to balance patch a game after it releases in favour of Evo and the pro players. What a joke!

Not the best way to keep all players engaged who pick up and want to play as inherently bad characters.

• Hitboxes are still broken for some characters
• Fatal blows should not recharge when they miss
• Clearly unbalanced Krushing blows for some characters when compared to others. (LOL) Geras (LOL)
• D1 poke meta
• WiFi filter
+ character unbalances

Normally I would agree, but here is why I don't:

NRS had a vision for MK11. This was going to be a slower, more traditional fighting game with more of a focus on neutral and spacing, rather than full-on offence and mix-till-death.

For about 20 characters, they succeeded.

For Sonya, Geras, Erron, Cassie, Jacqui and Scorpion, they absolutely failed.

These characters are not playing the same game the rest of the cast is. They can yolo around all day and still eat up your entire healthbar. There's very little there in terms of execution, planning, strategy, spacing...They also do stupid amounts of damage with very little risk.

In a bit of a paradox, even though Cassie is arguably the best in the game, she's the only one who feels like she fits the most in MK11. She's super strong, but she's not yolo levels of stupid like the others. She's my favourite top tier to play against because at least there's some thought involved in playing her.

The others play MKX. Except Sonya who plays both MKX and Injustice.

How is scorpion a mix character. Still getting beat by telecancel d1 throw gimmicks? Cause thats what his teleport cancels are, GIMMICKS

I don't like people who complain as much as I don't like people with the "git gud" attitude.
I think that the game is slowly dying already and a patch that change the meta and how dominant some characters are, is needed.
 
NRS did well for waiting so long. Afterall, there were many tournaments, 2 KL seasons and such. The problems are pretty clear now, so the tuning will be well pointed.
But yeah, after KL 2 ends, things have to be changed. And some of them drastically, more than frame adjustments.
 
The game has been out for 3 months and there hasn't been a single balance patch lol

It makes online play boring. 'Oh look, Scorpion is top tier and easy to use in this game, that hasn't been done before'

You're just shit and hope that someone fixes you being shit, so that you don't have to and that there's one more character that's not viable in the meta so that your shitty character becomes the next Liu Kang/Scorpion you play 40% of your matches against, so that they get nerfed to shit in the next patch.

It's an endless cycle of idiocy. Instead of having sensible discussions on what is fun and what is not fun in the game, people try to shill their half-baked balance changes where Geras' close sandtrap should be a mid or Scorpion's teleport should be a high that they cooked up in their weed ridden stoner brains.

Playing against Scorpion is not fun, just like it's never fun to play against somebody who forces you to guess. The only trashbags here are the people defending these characters.

If you have fun guessing between cancel/no cancel, amp/no amp, if cancel/what follow up etc., more power to you. All I'm seeing is a character that can be played by somebody who has no idea what they're doing, because this character literally gives no shits about your neutral and/or fundamentals.

Like, imagine practicing all of your AA's, from jabs to specials to d2s, and then playing against a scorpion who CAN LITERALLY JUMP AROUND THE SCREEN ALL DAY and either force you to hold + frames or punish you for 35% cause you -tried- to AA and got teleport smacked. Imagine meticulously learning the max range for each and every move, only to get auto-whiff punished by a teleport. And you know it's bad when the only character who can actually deal with Scorpion's bullshit, is another Scorpion.

As a sidenote: making teleport a high is entirely reasonable and the character can remain otherwise untouched for all I care.
