hey guys,

imagine if nrs decided to remaster one classic mk arcade game (mk1, mk2, umk3 or mk4) and they would ask the community, which would you prefer and why?
again, you can only choose ONE game!

go!

I will leave my seal on you!
If by "remaster" you mean make it all new remake like SSF2T HDR then I want none of them. If you meam just brong back one of the games but not changing anything except maybe more crisp visuals to the classic graphics, then I will pick one, and the one I go with is UMK3.

EDIT: If we could get them all I would pick all of them, each and every one of them had a lot to offer from all aspects overall.

my pick is mk2!
why? it had by far the most impact and hype when released back then in the arcades in comparison to the others!
it was also an amazing sequel to mk1!
i was an arcade player back then and the mk2 hype was sick! everyone played it!
for me, mk2 was THE fighting game of the arcade time 1992-1996!
of course i am talking about my experience from my local arcades but i saw the same in other arcades/citys.

Choosing between these are hard but I think if I had to pick right now I might go MK2. I know MK3 is considered bettered mechanically and like the only competitive MK before MK9 but MK2 is my favorite by a little bit with its stages and music lol

I would like all of them. MK4 graphics don’t age well at all, it would be great to play a remastered version. The only reason I would want a UMK3 one is so it would be playable on next gen, lol.

All 4 classics from MK1-MK4 were competitive , even MKDA had tournaments of 100+ players .

MK1 because it gives me super nostalgia feelings <3 I love the music, the stages, secret Reptile battle, endurance matches, everything. I love when you beat Shang Tsung, all the other characters come out of him and explode. "YOU ARE THE SUPREME MORTAL KOMBAT WARRIOR!"

Seriously, I feel like I'm 8 years old typing this.

I had to be Trilogy PSX/PC version.
But just remastering wouldn't be enough, they need to add all classic characters from previous games, giving them running animations, fixe the absurd damage output they gave to the classic characters, and then it would definitely be a remaster version, just adding the game to the store for the sake of nostalgia isn't going to cut for me no matter which classic.

Maaaan thats a pretty tough one and I cannot decide properly. I d say MK2, since it is my all time favorite MK ever created. However I am not sure weather I could really get used to new graphics and so on. The nostalgia is way to big.

Therefore Id say UMK3 would be my choice since it is by far the most popular of the classics if I am not mistaking. The other thing is, I d like to give that game a chance of getting a far bigger competitive scene, since its gamedesign with its fast hype combos and the pressure abilities is way too fun to remain so unnoticed worldwide. ( Except maybe USA and SA)

which 100+ players tournaments are u talking about?
I don't know the names of the tournaments, but @Tom Brady mentioned in one of his videos (which is no longer on his channel sadly) that MKDA back in the day used to have 100+ player tournies.

I had no idea. I always assumed MK3 was the only one that was somewhat big competitively. That's cool to know.
Not only that, but MK Vs. DC, even though it barely had tournies (it had like one I think), it's gameplay was kinda the prototype for MK9's gameplay.
