I really think, that top 8 was beginning to not be hype for the crowd once like it was a series of Tanya matches. You could just tell even on stream. Like... Even the commentators were struggling to not say anything to the best of their ability and succeeded.

Honestly it felt like mit and djt were playing friendly matches. Not the kind of intense hype we expect from CEO grand finals. The variety of characters saved a little, DJT sub zero looks very good, too bad sub is becoming a counterpick character only.

Those last four matches were awesome. REO and Sonic went back and forth holding advantage until REO finally took it by learning to slip fireballs while going in. MIT just watched and took everything in. Then, MIT made quick work of a winded and well scouted REO. Then, the final was epic with them switching characters back and forth. MIT's Reptile forced DJT to go to Sub to win. Then, MIT switched back to Tanya for a seemingly free win because its such a bad matchup - but DJT pulled it out with Sub. It was absolutely an amazing tournament.

...and we show how petty we are by pointing fingers and bickering over Tanya. C'mon fellas. I really want us to be better.

Did you see the pure disappointment on MIT's face? They were not friendly matches.

Yeah, the GF was really hype. And it was clear with a Tempest Lao in play (literally, the 'anti-shark spray' of Tanya's), it wouldn't be a Tanya oriented GF.

But oh man, I was just feeling so burnt out and negative after HoneyBee, DR, and Gross had been taken out by Tanyas- I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I should have been.

Like, holy crap, we saw a REPTILE vs SUB ZERO match in the grand finals of a tournament.

You can't be serious. Did you see the crowd reaction? That was a great Finals and the Tanya teleports completely sucked the air out of the building. I feel bad for DJT.

Okay, you do realize the CROWD hated her too? That the commentators were really trying their hardest and got the most hype when she lost? That they were bored? That @Hollywood DMS who is at the venue said people were making sidebets on how many teleports?

You cannot ignore that.

There were like how many Sub mains? I've counted 2. So seeing him being counter picked actually means a lot for Sub fan club. I still don't think he's yet very tournament viable. Maybe with little tweaks in the future though.

Yeah, I'd like to see him learn Reptile's optimized combos and set ups, lord knows the Reptile forums need to see this.

I think Reptile is still in the low end of the mid tier, even after the buffs. MIT is a really good player, and the MU was good. If he was up against Tanya, he'd be eaten alive like the desert lizard in the beginning of Mad Max Fury Road. Reptile is not as bad as some people say, but he's not great either. He is kinda like War God Kotal. Viable and fun.

DJT did main SZ at the very beginning. He still keep the character as a secondary

That Top 8 was god awful. There was barely any reaction from the crowd most of the time

Too many Tanya matches. Lame Kung Lao hat pressure etc...

SF4, a game over 5 years old currently has 35K twitch views, and its not even started. MKX had max 42K, the game is on its way down quickly at this rate. Lack of match variety, and too many character shenanigans
