Worked wonders for me. I got one for like 20 bucks and I get the same ping/up/down as wired. Definitely worth it.

I should have put in my post that I wasn't intending on discouraging others. And I shouldn't have said I wouldn't recommend it. I'm aware that it was a personal bad experience. If people investing into this thing gives them a chance at better connection, I'm all for it.

I use a powerline adapter in my room upstairs and it works wonders.

I would like to add that these shouldn't be plugged into power strips or surge protectors. They should be direct to the wall outlet.

Also, the electrical wiring between your modem and where you connect must travel on the same circuit, which can be tricky in some apartment buildings.

I'm not an electrician but I heard if your using the same circuit for some reason sometimes your neighbors can access the same powerline network if your's isn't secured. This would only apply to apartment buildings or similar buildings. Perhaps someone knows more?
