imagine being stupid enough that you needed this baloney ass cop-out from 16bit to get brave enough to make a post disagreeing

Just gonna leave this here, lemme know if there is anything in this trailer that it wasn't when we got the game or as it went patched along the way.

There is a difference between not having a move in the release version and changing its properties 7 months alter release.

Is there? What is it?
You're right, there isn't a difference. MK9 Sub was released with different features than trailer showed, not because the trailer highlight bugs, but because they decided to change how he played - that much seems obvious. That's exactly what they did with Brainiac too, and you just admitted it. The difference is here, they called it a bug fix

If something its not going well with the meta NRS changes, that's how they design things.
If you want stick around and complain about Braniac just remember, before him there were others, like Jade for example.

It doesn't really matter if it was a bug or not.

I know this is a gimmick thread and I probably shouldn't give a serious response, but why not, right?

Imagine you have a move, and everything seems to be going good. Unfortunately, a bug arises: the move is uncounterable in certain situations. You can't jump over it nor can you appear to go under it, and it makes no real sense visually, it's just an invisible wall that hits you. Okay, well that stinks. How can we fix it? Research leads to choosing one of two solutions:

1) Change the move's visual effect by making it so this charging move no longer charges forward, thus negating the moving "invisible wall" aspect of it. This involves getting artists and animators together, taking time from what they should be working on, for a simple bug fix.

2) Leave the animation of the move as is but change the hitbox so it will no longer have the "invisible wall". Doing this means that certain situations where the move used to hit will not work anymore. This may effect how much damage he does in certain combos.

Considering that solution 1 is wasting time and money from multiple departments, and the patch itself is already an expensive investment, that really isn't an option. So all we're left with is solution 2, which is the only answer.

You know that with reducing the hitbox will make some of his combos not work, and that it may affect how he is seen in a competitive setting. However, there are no alternatives, and the only other possible solution is a drastic rework of a move that was, for all other intents and purposes, working as intended. You make the change. Since that was not intended as a balancing act, it's labelled a "bug fix," because the reason for the change was to fix an actual bug with the attack.

Unfortunately, as most game developers tend to find out, your hard choice is now seen as a cowardly, lying act by a consumer base who often refuses to listen or empathize with scenarios that arrive naturally in the complicated and live-wire process that is game design. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

And that changes... what exactly?
.... that they called it a bug fix, and its not

this is literally the entire point of the thread, saying its the same as something that didn't do this at all is just idiocy

yeah when you have gods like myself, IrishMantis, and Sangre one side of the argument, and then fuckbois like Cerebro, trufenix, and 16bit on the other side, you can probably already guess who's gunna be correct without even knowing the context
