Just switched to keyboard for MK9 here is my setup need input to optimize because right now it feels awkward as fuck

WASD Move
Switch Stance Q & E

Spacebar is block

j is LP // K is HP
N is bk // M is HK

I can double bind for both 360 and PS3

Any advice or experience with MK keyboarding would be awesome.

Is the default mk2 pc config not more easy to use?

Use the arrows for direction and the numpad for the rest
1 = Square / X
7 = triangle / Y
9 = circle / B
3 = cross / A
num5 for block
num0 for the L2 button (for xray)

Btw how did u get a keyboard to work in MK? Mine doesnt detect any buttons in the game, only for chat

XFPS 5 works for both 360/PS3 or get a XIM1/2/3 all work for keyboard for 360.

They don't let you use keyboards for inputs even tho they work just fine. Corporate swine. Regardless I don't have arrow keys so no your layout fails.

Hundred dollars for an accessory seems way overpriced just to play keyboard. Another fifty and you could get the Hitbox. Or just buy that dongle and use that six-axis emulator to attain keyboard play.

hm interesting, how good is actualy to play MK9 with keyboard compared to fightsticks ?
Keyboards have one specific advantage no other controller has...easier directional control since directional inputs are all separate buttons. I don't mean this in the sense that it's easier to move. Instant air stuff like instant air fireball with Kabal is dirt easy with a keyboard. I'm pretty sure there are various other things you can do with a keyboard for MK9 that's otherwise difficult on pad/stick.

This only works on debian-based Linux distros, so you’ll need a computer with that installed. You’ll also need a PS3 Sixaxis controller and a Bluetooth dongle, but not just any dongle will do – its Bluetooth device address has to be modifiable. Unfortunately Matlo doesn’t provide any specific models or brands of dongles, so it seems like you’ll have to rely on trial and error.

So how does the hack work? From what I can understand, the software lets you copy the device address of a PS3 controller and use it as the dongle’s address, tricking a PS3 into thinking that the signals it’s receiving are from the controller.

Still suffers from negative edge but I get way less input errors.

Also if your a keyboard gamer like me its just home territory to smash 1 and 2 from playing Starcraft II.

Dammit, I have seriously -just- ordered the Eagle Eye converter for the same functionality.

I'm trying to get this to work and if it does, i might be able to cancel the order...

WASD- Movement
Also you can try using ASD with spacebar for jump, like the hitbox
NUM7 - Forward Punch
NUM4 - Back Punch
NUM5 - Block
NUM9 - Forward Kick
NUM6 - Back Kick
NUM8 - Flip Stance
NUM0 - Grab
NUM. - Tag

Another setup:
U - FP
J - BP
K - Block
O - FK
L - BK
I - Flip Stance
Y - Grab
H - Tag

Those are my two setups when I use a keyboard for MK9 at my friends.

There is a windows version for this now. You can also make it work without a bluetooth dongle, which i prefer, but it's more expensive and requires a little soldering. check it out : http://gimx.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=22

Besides from using keyboard as input device I really like the macro function. Might give you a programmable training dummy:) Maybe it can also be used to deduce some frame data. You have to input delay between button presses in mSecs.
