Walkback jump in punch midscreen is easy on anybody. It should be used all the time. In the corner it's tighter but, even on females, if you end in like 114 or anything really into regular spear then you just take a small step back and you jump and press 2 (don't use jump 1 for this) pretty high in the air so that the jump-in hits in the later active frames then it will connect. Then you get to milk more damage and retain corner position.On 114 or just in general? I find walk back JiP is do-able mid screen against males, but much harder in the corner, and borderline impossible against females before you even touch the corner where I think it IS impossible. Might be wrong though, what have you found?
Either way I think you are right about ex spear not being worth it in the corner
EX Spear is almost never worth it unless you like press 114 in anticipation of them blocking it (so you can get the frame advantage) but they get hit and you just confirm into EX spear to get a full combo. I think EX Spear might scale less in combos but you'll only add an extra % to your bnb so it's not worth spending the bar (don't quote me on the scaling thing, could be wrong. I can't remember). EX Spear has more hit advantage so I think you can pull off an EX invisibility straight after it and if you time it perfectly you should be left at +12 hit advantage - think I saw in the general discussion that you can continue the combo however I didn't test so I'm not sure if it's possible.
