Assassins Creed: Black Flag Hype Thread

It comes out in 3 days, and I for one am hype. Been a fan of the series since AC1 and I think they are finally getting back to making good ones (ACIII was ok but not that great imo)


I got to go to the panel at Comic con this year and the gameplay they showed was really impressive. The transition from the hidden blades to the pistols are seamless and look hella cool. The ship battles look somewhat interesting this time around as well.

The multiplayer looks pretty good to, especially with what is basically a custom games feature where you can create your own game mode. I know the AC community came up with some great ones in previous games, bet they'll come up with some pretty fun stuff in this one too.

Not in the least bit hype for the game, they're terrible.
They hardly change each year and they're not surprise in story or gameplay anymore.
AC2 was the only one I enjoyed, they took the worst part of AC3 and based a whole game on it... BOATS FUCKING YAY!

Finally some positivity in this thread.

I really think they are going in the right direction with this one.

After that though they got bad... 2 and BH were good tbf, 1 was okay but way too basic but it was the stepping stone, but after 2 and BH it just didn't change enough...
The change felt big from 1>2>BH.

It established an IP, the MP was relatively consistent while the story was meant to tie ups Ezio and Desmond's story.

They should change the pursuer/target mechanics, pursuer always winning is fucking bull

So you could turn invisible in Brotherhood? Fly like an eagle? Make over 15 different types of bombs?

I wasnt a fan of ACIII personally but ACR was fine imo.

I really enjoy the MP still, AC3 had a fun MP, as did the rest.
BUT The story line is just shocking now... The best thing to happen in AC3 story happened like and hour into the game...

Also I would not enjoy a game where the gameplay seems quite heavily based on the worst thing about AC3.... Boat fights... Lord how I despise you boat fights.

But otherwise I wish games like these would release a MP only download.

Nah man, those are like Gimicks... It's just like the CoD Story lines, they throw in a cool little gimick so you think they changed something.
This time you can be a dog next time you will fly a jet who knows?

All I know is these games I buy purely for MP because those are good.
But I don't think I want to spend full whack on AC4 just for the MP this time.

The difference is this time instead of firing cannons, you can elect to get on foot and board the other ship and take everyone out.

In the age old battle of ninjas vs. pirates, I choose ninjas anyday of the week. After the guns, now the boats? Nah, no thanks.

Skipping this copy unless I hear that's it's really good otherwise.

Apparently the main character in this one is... "you". Not sure exactly what that means.

Ugh, w/e. Ubisoft writers don't know what they're doing. They seem to have a curse to always fuck up their series in one way or another.
