i'm pretty sure i either suck.... or that cancel is so tight that my inputs vanish.
It's all in the timing. As soon as you see the last string input connect (1) than do the input for the spin. I'ts not like MK9 where you can buffer the input. What till 1 connect than quickly input the DF1.I'm using a keyboard and am having the biggest trouble with one of Kung Lao's most common strings: B3,2,1 - DF1 - .... I've seen this used as the beginning of a bunch of strings, and I just can't get it to work. I finish inputting the string well before the animation has completed, but to no avail, the spin always starts after the other kombatant has been knocked down.
My sticks are only 6 buttons so the 1+2 is the inky way to use interactablesthe 1+2 interactable thing is fucking annoying i hate that they put that in. also input shortcuts don't do shit, i barely notice a difference really. I have a problem either way, inputs are really weird in this game. I'm also having trouble getting consistent armor wakeups, the wakeup almost never comes out meterburned.

I gave up on that. I started using Ji1 instead of ji2 and now I have zero problems.Ji2,242 with sub I get an empty jump into s4 -_____-
I think I input too fast maybe....
Honestly this has helped me also. It feels weird coming from mk9 but yeah switching from j1 to j2 makes it easier imo. Makes no sense but yeah I agreeI gave up on that. I started using Ji1 instead of ji2 and now I have zero problems.
I've never ever used JI1 in MK9...
