Simple question. Feel like things arent coming out? Simplest of inputs feel like they don't come out sometimes.

An example is f3nutpunch with Johnny. I don't know why i cant do this string but it baffles me that I have the biggest trouble doing it.

I only make this thread because I know people are experiencing trouble too. Use this thread to give tips and share your concern.

I have release check turned off and I constantly send out a fireball on Kung Jin's b21~db3. The fireball is db1. I do my dangedest to keep my inputs clean but that gets real frustrating. Even worse, is sometimes b2 doesn't even come out mid combo. I think I need to get used to the new directional input buffering.

Pig recently had topic like this opened.
For all those years i've been playing fighting games i've never had problem inputing back forward but in this game i just cant do it. finger slide just doesnt work like in mk9, i have to press it separately for my moves to come out, or my character starts jumping or something. at first i thought this was my dualshock 3,4 issue but then i turned mk9 on and everything was iDEAL.
Im salty.

I play on a hitbox and the only thing I have a slight issue with is sometimes superman (bf3) doesn't come out and I'm all WTF? But I just think I need to lrn2play. I'm having less and less issues with raiden's lightning run cancels so advanced inputs aren't that bad. I just wonder if I'm still holding back when I go to hit forward or something.

I seem to be one of the few who has absolutely NO issues with the PS4 d-pad. People say all the time that bf motions result in them neutral jumping, but I have never had that happen. Jacqui's combo ender is pretty much always bf3 and it always comes out when I put it in. *shrug*

The window for the inputs is tighter than compared to MK9 but It gets easier for me with practice. I think have Easy inputs on does help.

Honestly I think input accuracy is more prevalent in this game. This combined with the PS4 controller (All I've had to compensate for with the Xbox 360 dpad is now working against me) has made learning combos a bit of a challenge than they have been in past games. I've gotten pretty consistent now, but it was a bitch getting the timing down for some stuff. I still occasionally jump in with Scorpion and proceed to standing 1 then stand still after trying to do 214 into full combo just because I input it a little too quickly.

Also, though I can't give specifics right now because I can't remember which characters and strings, I have found 2 or 3 strings that I literally can't do for some reason no matter how many different ways I try to input them. Maybe I'm just that bad, but it's weird.

currently with takeda its really hard to hit confirm and he is so unsafe on everything that its super essentials to his game. i'm stuck using ps4 and xbox one pad so back forward motions are huge pain. if you see me doing just b21 on hit with takeda know that if i was using hitbox i would have hit confirmed and you would have been dead /rant.

I have a weird issue with a Kano combo I use.

F212,F212, Run Cancel, 112~kano ball

If I mess up and don't hit the 2 in 112 I get an EX Kano ball at the end. Looking at the practice mode button list it doesn't make any sense why that should come out. I don't have negative edge or anything like that turned on.

I also have issues with actually performing run cancels in general... But that is because I suck right now :oops:

I have to consciously think about lifting my thumb from back to forward in order to hit it every time. Eventually, in training, I hit it consistently. Sadly, in the heat of battle, I fall back on old habits and start thumb sliding and the input gets jumbled.
 
You need to turn easy shortcuts off. With easy shortcuts on, the diagonl input df 1 is equal to inputing d, df,f 1. It can really mess you then if you have an accidental diagonal in you inputs. If you turn it off though you lose 1+2 equals interactable.

I have a problem either way, inputs are really weird in this game. I'm also having trouble getting consistent armor wakeups, the wakeup almost never comes out meterburned.

With them off F3 nutpunch is much more strict on what inputs it allows.

If you input F3, b, db, d, df, 3 you will not get f3 nut punch out with input shortcuts off. With them on this input is allowed.

Furthermore, specials cannot be canceled into using the shortcut notation. For example JC nut punch can be performed with b, db, 3 in neutral with input shortcuts on. However F3, b, db, 3 will not execute F3 cancelled into nut punch.

If you are used to MK9 you may be used to do b, db, 1 for nut punch in your combos and not realize it. it will just take some getting used to.
 
I'm using a keyboard and am having the biggest trouble with one of Kung Lao's most common strings: B3,2,1 - DF1 - .... I've seen this used as the beginning of a bunch of strings, and I just can't get it to work. I finish inputting the string well before the animation has completed, but to no avail, the spin always starts after the other kombatant has been knocked down.

On wakeups you dont MB like injustice. You have to press block and the attack button simultanously like EX moves in street fighter.

The 1+2 thing is annoying but at the same time I play a six button setup so I need to be able to have the 1+2 option.

Liu Kang would be absolutely perfect in every way, shape, and form if his bicycle kick wasn't a forward back forward input, it always just feels so clunky/slow to press. I'm not sure if it is just the PS4 d-pad or if it is the fact I already have tendon/wrist issues but I can't play Liu Kang for more than 10-15 matches without my hand/wrist being in excruciating pain. Which is a shame because Liu Kang is definitely the character I'm best with currently.

Yeah I have all three things turned off.

but the b, db, motion is probably what I'm used too. Definitely took me awhile not to autopilot to using 1 as opposed to the new 3 input

yeah, I know that. Interesting about the hitbox thing, didn't know that. I might need to use them longer to understand what they do differently

The inputs are a little stingy sometimes but I cleaned up a lot of my tech flubs.

I turn input shortcuts on, it makes things easier.
