October 21th edit: I think it's a good idea to let this thread be the place where I post all colombian UMK3 tournament matches.

As another torny happens, I'll update the post with the most recent date and with the videos of course.

Hi, everybody

It's been a while since I post tournament results from my country, so I decided to make this thread.

The event is called "Amanecedero Fighting", and we do it once every two months. We start at 6pm and finish the next day at 8am.

The most usual games are

SSFIV
KOF 98 and/or 2002
T6
UMK3
GG xx AC
SSF2T HDR
BB CS
Among others

Although we run tournaments for all those games, the main focus of the event is casual play. We started doing these events 2 years ago (the first time there were only 6 players in a friend's room lol), and now the event has grown to the point of having +100 people sometimes. The last one was held on Augusth the 28th and 89 people attended.

Now, as for UMK3, 16 players participated. I recorded 2 casual matches, losers finals and grand finals of the tournament. I decided to run 2 separated pools, resulting in 2 "champions" what would face each other in the grand finals. That's why there's 3 "GF" videos before the last one, which is the actual GRAND FINALS.

Than you all for watching and commenting.
Yeah, the events are always fun, meeting people, lots of friendly trash talk, we often leave the finals for people to see it one after another on a video beam, sometimes we comment the matches, so the hype goes up. I definitively recommend you guys to do this kind of events. Our buddies in Venezuela do this thing too, just not as much as we do here. We only play fighting games at the event, but sometimes some guy brings his set up and plays random games like metal slug. I even saw some people playing tetris and puzzle bobble last time lol

Actually, people like Hanzo, RZP, Shock and Tim inspired me to get the arcade cabinet to the event (we played n64 mkt or mame umk3 before). I've brought the cabinet three times and people love it, it's the only arcade game that is played in the event. Thank you guys for still keeping the love for UMK3, doing your part and not letting it die.

The video link AC posted, shows that our event became pretty popular and several gaming sites are advertising and supporting the event. Fighting games are almost dead in Colombia, so if we don't do our part, nobody else will.

Hi, guys

We ran another UMK3 tournament on Oct 9th at our night event "Amanecedero Fighting". We called it "Dawn of the scrubs" in that edition, LOL

76 people attended.

Tournaments were

UMK3
KOF95

Anyway, the UMK3 tournament was the one with the more signups (20)!

We decided to place the 20 players randomly in 2 10-people groups and played round robin. Only 8 players survived and then those 8 played in double elimination format.

I could only record 2 matches from first row, 2 from winners bracket, 4 from losers bracket and of course winners finals, losers finals and grand finals

Well, just letting you guys know we're running our "all night long" event again this saturday (march 5th). I wanted to do it on december but anyways, this time is for sure and I'm bringing the cabinet again and as always I'll record the finals (hope to record some more this time)

The tournaments went nicely, +120 people attended! :)

Sadly, only 12 for UMK3 and I came up on 2nd place. I managed to win the SSF2T HDR tournament though :D

I recorded all top 8 matches for UMK3 so I'll be uploading those as well.

Ok, so we had another UMK3 tournament yesterday in our "all-night long" event and we ran tournaments for MK9 and other games as well. I was extra busy this time running the MK9 tournament, sometimes the UMK3 one and helping other guys run their brackets so I couldn't record all the matches I would have wanted. I recorded grand finals for both tournaments and asked a friend to record a match vs Polaco and me in MK9
