Any way to combo into Johnny's brutalities?

So I've unlocked all his brutalities and have been toying around trying to get them out on the AI but it seems like they all need to be last single hits.

Even while grounded the nut punch only works if it's the last hit before the "finish him" pop up. If the string you cancel into kills first it won't work. This also seems to be the case with shadow kick. Then the rest are for his shades or throws/throw break.

Am I missing anything? I want to be able to hit them in real games but none seem too practical other than back throw.

Ive been able to get them off of Stryker's Busted reset... the opponent HAS to be grounded.... so you can combo into things but you cant pop people up

If you land Cyrax's net on someone you can go into the Shades Throwing brutality, so long as the net landed on a grounded opponent.
