An Observation of Tournament Mannerisms

The Tom head scratch is the most notable the comes to mind. I noticed Daigo nudges his hair to the side at times when he's down a match, other than that, he's always stoned faced.

Evo of 2013 was actually the first time I got to see a lot of you guys since I tuned in to watch both games....and I have to say that DJT probably has the best stone cold composure of any player I have ever seen this side of Daigo. Even PL as well as he hides it, you can kind of see when he's getting flustered. DJT.... that guy might as well be reading off his grocery list in his head from where I'm sitting. Seriously....Its damn impressive.

For me, when I lose a match in tournament, I do the "nose scratch or the eyebrow scratch". I also try to do my best poker face to pretend like I'm not flustered. If I'm talking to my opponent, I just go silent when shit hits the fan.

Here are some mannerisms from players that I've observed when they:
-Are suddenly down a match in tournament
-Are suddenly down by a lot of life
-Get hit by a combo in tournament

Foreverking - The smile and nod/The putting-on of the glasses

GGA 16bit - He kind of fingerdrums on his pad. I have no idea how to describe it, so thats the best I can.

Wonderchef - The smile and nod

GGA Dizzy - The eyebrow scratch

DJT - Nothing, he's just stonefaced while MIT is giving him advice.

Woundcowboy - The head shake

Blind Ducky - The head shake.

Jupiter - Always has a water bottle handy in case he's down a match.

Slayer - If he's leaning into the monitor, he rapidly leans back if he loses that match.

Tyrant - The smile and nod

CD Jr. - The constipated face

Perfect Legend - The stone face

PPJ - The head nod

Pantychrist - The smile

These are all the ones I've noticed via watching streams or being present at tournament matches.

@KRYS9984 "agrees" with the situation by moving his head up and down when he lands a punish
@hard_goodbye has a smirk on the side of his face when he lands a cheap knockdown gimmick
@T.roll looks towards to sky when he gets blown up

Whiteboi (Nick) routinely gets bodied by me in casuals, I'll let you guys on to some of his best ones.

The headshake. Whenever you or him does something stupid and gets punished.

The snicker. Whenever you don't do something optimal or miss a punish

The complain about the matchup. Whenever he gets blown up for a wakeup attack by Harley.

The wakeup attack. Every time.

Win 8+ games and he'll turn to you directly and say in an angry voice: "You realize that I have NO OPTIONS, right?"

"Oh! This guy can actually make reads!"
"Nice! I guess I have to start trying now"
"Looks like this is gonna be a fun one"

I don't know why I imagine all these quotes and actions being done by Denzell Washington. Like Training Day Denzell Washington.

The Head Shake:

"I'm so fucking stupid, why did I get hit by that?"
"This guy is garbage and I'm getting hit by bullshit"
"God, my character sucks"
"I really hope the stream is talking about how much of a bill my character is"
"I play a shitter"

Theo always adjusts his glasses during throws, and if you tech one he doesn't expect then he has to quickly scramble to put his hands back on his pad.

He also has a special mannerism when I used to pick Batgirl on him in casuals. Everytime he gets a hit he pops off on me about her being stupid.

Oh, and Theo's pre WNF jack in the box wisdom run is pretty legendary.

Filipinoman had patented giggle/leap out of his chair on victory with a laugh/intense lean and mash when hitting important bnbs.

Brad has smashing buttons/stick when feeling himself, leans in and rests his chin on his hand when he loses, and does the shoulder roll when feeling himself.

Whiteboi will wake up every time reminding you that he was checking if you could stuff it, even if you have every time.

The whole community habit is to jokingly ask me if NW is top 5 when they see me and I will laugh when they say it but weep softly when I'm alone later on.

I'm sad nobody has mentioned me.

I wasn't that descriptive earlier so I'll make a new post

@Sajam will look up at the ceiling and squint his eyes right after a win, after a loss he'll always look down and scratch his beard for no reason

@EMPEROR_THEO has the classic tech throw and push up his glasses. He also does this thing where he'll look down into his lap and concentrate very hard about how he's going to walk back and trident rush you next game

Slayer always leans back and rubs his pant leg when he's wins a round on a comeback. Not really an actual mannerism but he will always do another superman punch if you block his wake up superman punch. The "I WAS SO HALPLESS, WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO?" after he loses to Theo is always amazing too.

Tyrant always tilts his head and squints his eyes if you hit some sick shit on him. Also if he ever lands a walking corpse that throws you in the corner he'll always ask "yo 100% tho?"

Everyone's already listed out pretty much everything @Filipino Man does but the instant hop out of the chair after his wins is probably my favorite.

If @EGP Wonder_Chef gets hit and is about to lose he always takes his hands off the stick super depressed. And the lean in smile when he's feeling himself after some tech his made up works.

Also @LEGEND's head shake as he throws his hands up after getting hit by a wake up while yelling "Dude! You really did that?" was probably my most favorite of all time.

How does nobody mention REO? He has as good a pokerface as anybody. I think he rivals DJT in lack of emotion.
