Abandoning the "Sony Fanboy" for Killer Instinct

All I said is that Sony is more likely to have the superior exclusives, judging from last gen consoles..

So this means:

1) There won't be any good Xbox One exclusives

2) There aren't people that will end up preferring the Xbox exclusives

3) None of the non-exlcusives will be good

4) No newer or unexpected developers will create anything worthwhile for Xbox. Well, we can cross this one out already because we already have KI.

5) People won't start any new IP/franchises, so we'll only get Uncharted 4 and Halo 8 on the new gen. Essentially all of the games will be exactly the same ones we had last-gen.

Because all of these things need to be true in order for the statement of "spending $500 on KI" to be accurate. Otherwise again, unless you have a crystal ball, you can't really predict where every good game will be -- and to me, saying that Xbox One won't have any more good games throughout the console's life sounds like foolishness/fanboyism.

(This is coming from someone who owns both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 and has enjoyed both of them for different reasons, even though neither of them had a launch title I was interested in).

I know how you feel, when I first played the PS1 back in 1994 I was hooked and will never betray my Playstation. But now since that one of the best fighting game series of all time, Killer Instinct is on teh Xbox One. I dont know where my Loyalty will lie. I want KI so bad though.

I was a sony fanboy back when my parents bought me a ps3, ps2 and ps1 for Christmas at whatever age I was at the time. Now being an adult I see no point in "fanboyism". Buy whatever you want, it is your money, and to people saying PS4 will have better exclusives. Can I borrow your fortune telling talents to see if the Eagles will make the playoffs this season? Naughty Dog is the best game developing studio in the world ATM, so I agree that PS4 will eventually have an awesome few exclusives from them. However with that being stated I bought the XBone because I wanted to with my money, I'll pick up a Ps4 when Naughty Dog releases what they are working on.

EDIT: Actually now looking back at my post, I think I just realized I'm more of a ND fanboy then Sony lol.

Btw to put this in perspective, here are the games (mainly exclusives) that I was interested in at previous system launches:

Sega Genesis -- None (maybe Altered Beast if I'd known about it at the time)
SNES -- Super Mario World, F-Zero
N64 - Mario 64 and Waverace (Actually, Waverace wasn't even a launch title -- but it was close)
PSX - None. (I played Toshinden, but it was only good for the time because nothing else had come out yet)
Dreamcast - Probably the strongest launch lineup ever.. Sonic Adventure, Power Stone, and NFL 2K.
PS2 - Tekken Tag Tournament (a port -- but was exclusive as far as home consoles)
Xbox - Halo
PS3 - None
Xbox 360 - Nothing
Etc.

As you can see, barely more than two, usually only 1 or none (except in the case of the Dreamcast -- RIP, you were one of the best. Also Ready 2 Rumble was fun at the time). However, that didn't stop us from continuing to purchase good games as they came out over the systems' lifetime.

I've never owned a Sony console beyond the first PS1, and that's not due to some snobbishness, just at the time I got different consoles based on my tastes and wants.

I've always been a fighting game purist, its why I originally got a SNES because of SF II. Eventually I would buy loads of games for that and different genres and I think at the time, Nintendo were just a really strong company, which is why I got a N64 later. But i've also owned a Saturn and Dreamcast, and I got those purely so I could play fighting games.

However I nearly ended up buying a Wii simply cause of Crystal Chronicles once upon a time.

Right now. the XBone looks the most appealing cause of Killer Instinct.. I think eventually Injustice will come to XBone as well. I will wait until some decent pads are released and the price drops.

At this stage, I think the only thing that could possibly sway me is if PS4 announced that Doom 4 was in development and was a Sony exclusive (which we all know will never be the case). Even the new Final Fantasy doesnt impress that much.

I base my logic on what Sony has done with with the ps3 and the little information that has been released.

I can't think of another reason to buy xbox one, when It comes to exclusives Sony always had and will probably continue to have the superior exclusives.

If you like KI then PS4 doesnt have the better exclusives does it? People tend to forget most games are going to be on both consoles, plus some people like the multimedia features Xbone has introduced.

Yep, sounds like me too lol. Having Power Stone 2 and Project Justice was worth having a very suspect looking Dreamcast that looked like it sat in a flophouse and a PS2 that contained more dust than an average tomb.

To whom it may concern. All of you who have bought an Xbox One for the sake of getting Killer Instinct. Good for you, its your money I'm not about to tell you how to spend it. I just hope you're all getting your money's worth out of the experience. As for me there isn't a single, solitary, notable, bullet point, that would captivate me enough to get an Xbox One right now. Especially since it has the whole " 500$ Brick Status". And on top of that it doesn't have any games that I want. So while you guys go hard in KI. I'll be enjoying the BlazBlue and Guilty Gear Xrd once they hit shelves. Also Knack and Resogun has been doing a pretty good job at holding my attention. Also dat warframe.

But a serious question to all of the Xbox One owners. What games are you fancying at the moment?

KI, Battlefield 4, and Dead Rising 3. All are pretty amazing and so fun I can barely decide what to play half the time lol.

he only mentioned KI because it's the only noteworthy game that XB1 had to offer at launch. you can't say "well you should buy it now because there might be great games later!" that's just not a valid argument. that's like if I said "you didn't like killzone shadow fall? well don't sell your ps4, you'll like the next one!" see what i mean?

i think I'll keep my money in my hand and wait for when these great exclusives actually exist. lol

As far as next gen games Forza 5 is the best and most polished of the bunch both xb1 and ps4. KI is my favorite but Forza is the best next gen game right now when you consider all things.

Outside side of KI nothing on the X1 interests me, so if I were to buy it then I actually would just be spending $550+ for 1 game.
Funny enough the only game that interests right now on the ps4 is KZ and im not going to drop $450 just for that. Maybe once Infamous and Driveclub hit yet I doubt it cuz I don't buy new consoles until I'm finished with the old one and there are still a few titles coming to ps3 especially fighters.
I think I actually might end up getting a gaming pc instead before a ps4.

Considering this is Microsoft we're talking about, I very much doubt it will get a PC release. Microsoft abandoned PC gaming a long time ago and while they pop up with the odd announcement saying "wait guys we still love you and will release more games" they never do. Sony's Online Entertainment division supports the PC better than Microsoft does which is both hilarious and quite sad. Case and point: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/windows/games

MS only see two choices with PC gaming: find a way of "beating" Steam or don't bother. The first won't happen as knowing MS they will try and tie it in to Windows 8 only (and the majority of PC gamers aren't exactly trustworthy of MS after years of promises and debacles), which leaves only the "don't bother" option.
