Abandoning the "Sony Fanboy" for Killer Instinct

My system at heart has been the Sony Playstation ever since walking up the stairs and looking down at my original PS1 when I was a kid. Just appreciating the fact that... "there it is, and it's mine".

Then Killer Instinct was announced and loyalty has gone out the door. I don't have one yet, but my Sony Fanboyness (yes, I know that's not a word) has said "Fuck it. Killer Instinct."

I'm with you on that Storms. I was dead against the xbox360 and defended the ps3 at every corner. I even laughed and smiled when MS dropped the ball at E3 for the Xbone. Then I started seeing all the KI stuff Max was doing and it just looks like DH is on to something great. Easy barrier of entry, solid fighting mechanics and from what ppl are saying the best netcode ever made for a fighting game. I can't lie though I have my eyes on a couple other Xbone titles like Ryse, DR3, Titanfall and The Witcher III.

Im doing the same thing, but I already bought a ps4 haha. Xbone is I pretty fun system, also its not like im paying 500+ just for KI. Also, once you bought it, you bought it. I say just get it, then your set for years to come with the console.

The closest I have ever been to a console fanboy was for the Sega Genesis, but that's only because one of my friends had a Super Nintendo, and it was more to be a dick to them.

Outside of that, I will support any system as long as its worth owning.

Right now, the Xbone is a bit of a mess, and it's going to take MS a few years to clean it up.
PS4 is doing better, but it has no games that I want to play ATM. Guilty Gear and MK10 might change that.

It just seems extremely odd to me that anyone that's 18+ would "fanboy" for one multimillion dollar corporation and get overjoyed when another stumbles. I actually can't find the logic in it. I want Nintendo to do well, but it's simply because I grew up with their games and want to continue playing the ones they make today, not because I want them to be "#ONE4Lyfe" or something. Having unwavering loyalty to a brand is unhealthy if you ask me.

I for one love a competitive market, because the consumer obviously wins in a situation when multiple companies are trying to give you the best incentive.

We must stay strong during this trials, KI is great, but is not worth $500.
Sony has never disappointed me, exclusives will come soon enough.
