TOURNAMENT NEW UPDATE
We want to thank everyone for the tremendous response we received from our Shang Tsung's Fight Night V scrolls! It took a lot of effort to create them, but seemed a perfect way to request the presence of some of the best Mortal Kombat fighters in the world. We are expecting the day to be quite an unforgettable event. We will not only be in the company of the best players from around the world, but also by the original actors that created and made the characters we all know so well.
The day will be broken up in to a few sections:
- Meet the Celebrities of Mortal Kombat
We are fortunate to have 10 of the original actors coming (and possibly more) and some of the members of the development team as well.
- Autographs
The guests will be here signing autographs. We will again be providing free 8x10 color and black & white photos for them to sign. You are welcome to bring other MK related items for them to sign as well, but please keep it limited to 1 or 2 items per actor.
- Pictures
After all the signing, the actors will be available to pose with people for pictures!
- The Mortal Kombat Arcade Tournaments
MK1, MK2, UMK3, MK9, MKX cabinet tournaments - We will be running tournaments in all of the games on our arcade cabinets. Controllers are not allowed to be hooked up to the MK9 or MKX cabinets. It will be single elimination, best 2 out of 3. Cash and prizes to the winners
- Mortal Kombat X Open
This tournament will be open to anyone who wants to compete in Mortal Kombat X (NRS employees will not be allowed to compete in this tournament). The tournament will be on PS4 setups. Double elimination and best 2 out of 3. Cash and prizes to the winner.
- Mortal Kombat X Wild Card
We have seen a few people who feel they should have received a scroll from Shang Tsung for the MKX Invitational. Were we wrong? Are you that good? Prove it. There is ONE more scroll. We will select stand out players from the MKX Open tournament for a mini tournament. The winner of that will Challenge TEAM GGA in a MORTAL KOMBAT ladder tournament. Defeat TEAM GGA and the last Shang Tsung's scroll is yours and you will be able to fight in the Mortal Kombat X Invitational.
- Mortal Kombat X Invitational
If you received a scroll from Shang Tsung, you can compete in this tournament. NRS employees will not be allowed to compete in this tournament. A limited number of scrolls were sent out to select, outstanding players based on a number of elements. Please bring your scroll to the tournament. If you were not sent a scroll or did not win the one in the wild card tournament you will not be able to compete in the tournament. Cash and Prizes to the winner
It will be an extremely busy day. As we do not have a locked down schedule for the actors the time of tournaments is not set. Casual matches will be going all day with tournaments will probably starting in the late afternoon. We hope to see you at the event but for those not able to attend make sure you watch the live stream!
