Now, now, this could all be semantics. Prime example: Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Is this technically DLC to MvC3? Nope. This is a new disc with new content. IF MK9 had an "ultimate" version and it would be released on a disc, then that's not DLC and Boon is not lying.

I'd just like to clarify: There's a good chance we won't get any more DLC because it's intended for a UMK9. The DLC was always referred to as the "first season", as 16 Bit once pointed out, so that does tend me towards the belief that they do (or did) plan to release more MK9 content. I doubt we'll see MK10 before 2013, and some of the problems in this game (the input bug and the meter drain glitch, most notably) just can't wait that long. MK9 is a great game, and while it's so close to perfection, there are a few crippling flaws that just can't be fixed by patching. It would only make sense to release a UMK9 to make these adjustments.

I'm really not too hard on NRS for their mistakes with MK9. It IS this team's first real attempt at a competitive fighter; Hector Sanchez had nothing to do with the older games, and I don't think Paulo Garcia did either. It holds fair that they're not going to get everything right on the first go, but because of that, it does seem more sensible to just release an expanded edition, a la UMK3, to make the necessary adjustments. If they do take this route, there will be no point in releasing more MK9 DLC unless it's appropriated for UMK9 as well, so who knows. Keep your fingers crossed, I guess.

Also, I'm thinking the surprise is a sequel to MK:SM and a crossover. It'll be about Skarlet going on an adventure into Outworld with Voldo from Soul Calibur. They're going to call it MK:BDSM.

I still see no reason the rest of the characters that were pre-rendered to show up can't get in on it.
One from each of the other games.
Sareena from the MK4/Mythologies era, Frost from MKDA, Tanya with her MKD moveset, and Daegon out of Armageddon.
Make it happen. Daegon was a brick shithouse, he needs some attention.
Instead of giving Frost a regular Sub-Zero-ish moveset, have her gameplay revolve around the daggers.
Have Tanya's Drillkick top Mileena's Ball shenanigans and hit low.
I don't know enough about Sareena to advise on her behalf, other than seeing her enormous MKA combos.

Haha, I like #3, 4, and 5 on your list with the difference I want them to hire ME! I have 3 years game development experience and I am currently working on my own game (for XNA).

On a side note, I would like:

--an MK game developed by Project Soul (the team behind the Soul Calibur games). Just imagine, a fighting game with the characters, story, music, and feel of MK but with the graphics, gameplay, and production quality of Soul Calibur. That would be the best fighting game ever for me.

Did the videogame awards show already? I hope they win fighting game of the year. That way they get incentive to focus on the main game more and not these fake ass ports that only Retarded Mk fans would buy. I mean seriously mortal kombat arcade kollection. Whoever bought that was conned.they coulda bought a g with that 20 and had more fun.

VGAs are tonight! Expect some cool announcements from developers and most likely NRS. As some of the big games are announced on the VGAs (Skyrim), Epic Games brand new IP is being announced tonight! I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a reveal for UMK9, EARLY teaser for MK10, or teaser for the MK movie.

it could be coming out next April you never know. It wont take them that long the're not making a new engine for it or anything. I think the 3 things are;

1. the Ipod batman game they just released
2. mk on the ps vital
3. the game of the year edition of mk9
