Longtime FGC member @Tom Brady is taking a new approach with competitive fighting games by assuming more of a leadership role via commentating, writing strategy guides and other things to help newer and older players level up.

He talks about his new approach in the first video, and a few other subjects. The second video is his first tutorial.

I like that Tom is doing this, definitely going to watch this when I can.

Lesson 1 is already hitting home, haha. I'm not doing as well in I2 as I was in MKX and most of the time it's because I end up beating myself. I see people walk back all day and I get frustrated when I have to spend 90% of my time chasing after them all over the stage - looking at you in particular RH and SG.

tom brady - the madman, dramaqueen of the mk community!
Please don't start that shit...

I respect the fact that Tom is admitting that he's done competing. No one can argue that he's a fantastic commentator. Tom's commentating has always been on a great level. He's one of the few people in the community that could tend the mic on his own and I would enjoy it the whole time.

I WILL EAT THIS GAME
...this makes me sad and happy at the same time.

All my crazy aside, I've always advocated that you'd be reeeeeeeally fucking hard pressed to find a better sensei than Brady.
He puts in the work, and he wants to help the world level up.

I hope more of those who are done competing would follow suit and move on to coaching, a lot of players are passionate about getting into the competitive scene but lack the essential fundamentals required to compete and improve on. I'd personally feel responsible to increase the player's base of the game i love after retirement by helping out the fresh blood to get started on their own journey. Good on you Brady.

Those that can't do, teach..

And bollocks to him being a good commentator, at any given opportunity he would bring the conversation back to himself.

Great to see Tom still working away behind the scene to make the community better.. great stuff. I hope he gets a shot at commentating. He has a tendency to be pretty negative though, and I think casters should be positive about things.. we get enough hate in the chat! Though with his knowledge and a chance to practise he could be a top caster no doubt!

Good video but watching it feels wierdly like I'm being yelled at.

The video is a tutorial but the tone is of one of those Bradycasts that is then deleted from YouTube after 2 days after posting.

I'm glad Tom's sticking around in some capacity, seemed like competing was bumming him out too much. Might be better to go the Lightning McQueen route (Car's 3 reference)

As someone else who doesn't really have the time/interest/motive to invest in modern fighters these days--having older, recognizable and respected faces from the community (including Brady, 16 Bit, etc.) take up commentary and producing content will be what keeps me checking sites and streams related to the FGC, so I'm glad to see this.

It was Tom Brady and the passion he showed back in MK9 (his streams with S1LENT1 come to mind) that partially inspired me to step offline for the short, but fun period I did and led to me meeting a lot of really cool people in the NRS community. Like him or hate him (LBSH, does he really have any genuine haters?), he's always been an invaluable asset to the community.

Lesson 1 video was amazing. Seriously, I really want to thank Tom for doing this considering he is actually a valued voice not only in NRS games but outside our community as well. Hopefully he releases more content.
