BA has a similar weakness to Reptile, if you can get him within a certain distance he can't jump at you, cant hit you with normals and cant divekick.

I see what you're saying though, but he could have an Aquaman backdash and still escape most shit if he backdashes after a divekick, so you'd still have to dash forward after him anyway.

Maybe, maybe not. If he had Aqua backdash, that might open up the possibility to chase him down with some normals after divekick. But really, its not just after divekick that this is a problem. He can pretty much backdash away for free after any safe move. And on top of travelling like 2 miles backwards, he recovers from it so damn fast that he can almost always punish you for whiffing afterwards.

BA backdash makes Shazam a sad panda.

it will, but thats unsafe. Im not saying that theres no way to catch him out of backdash, i'm just saying it forces a lot of characters to take extra risks that they don't have to against most others.

The torpedo is unsafe, but is it unsafe against Black Adam? Remember, he has no range.
WW can barely reach him with her 2 3 and thats pretty far reaching.

21 frame startup, really risky in this matchup since I could lose 45% for trying it...not even sure if it will work because I think BA can block in time.

Grayson will work for the most part. A smart black adam will keep jumping against a staff NW tho.

Well, I played a scrubby Black Adam who would backdash every time I blocked a divekick, so I picked Aquman and hit him with ground trident like 20 times and he would still back dash, it was funny.
