How the heck do you do 'up' inputs?

Deathstroke, Scorpion and a few others have 'up' inputs. B1U2 and F22U3.

I always mess them up. Am I not getting something? In training mode I see I do it right but it doesn't come out. Is there some special method?

well good sir the first thing you do is press up on the D pad............................................................
closed ?

I use my Dpad for combos exclusivelly, it always fails. On the movelist in training mode it says I pressed up and the button... but it doesn't fucking come out.

sounds like you have control mapping issues or a bad controller. Its really not difficult at all, least it shouldn't be

I was thinking I was missing something, since I had real issues with command throws but now I land them very easily because of how I was inputting them.

I don't think its an issue of mapping since it registers as 'up', but it doesn't come out. Its so annoying. I want to play scorpion or deathstroke but I really can't because of this.

Black Adam is oddly fine. He has a lot more time to do the inputs.

The timing is a little awkward compared to MK inputs, ala Jade and Frost's U3. Same command, but there seems to be a brief beat in Injustice before you finish the input after U where in MK they have to be done rather close together.

With KF I find that my biggest fault is I often do a NJ3 instead of that.

But its a lot better than say, scorpion lex or deathstroke. Those I drop 50% of the time.

I do NJ3 as well, I basically wait a split second longer and it doesnt happen for me.

The down inputs in strings have some input leniency where they will accept down forward or down back also. I couldn't guess why this wasn't implemented for the up inputs in strings.

Raven's got one as well (f22u1) and I don't have any trouble with it. No special delays in the timing, just mash as quick as possible. Only time jump comes out is if I'm super slow inputting the u1.
