What's new

Choosing a new character: Frost or Raven?

I am trying to pick up a new character and I'm torn between Killer Frost and Raven. I feel like both are somewhat similar, it's just a tough call though. I already play Batman, Batgirl, Green Lantern, and Solomon Grundy so I would like to have someone who doesn't play to similarly to those characters. After playing a battle on raven, currently playing the frost one now, she seems a little close to GL with singularity (I think) being used like his grab.

Anyone have any advice or able to clarify the differences between Raven and Killer Frost?

Frost is a heavy rushdown character with an amazing approach option and the best 50/50s in the game. She is also very underplayed and somewhat execution heavy.

Raven is a Zoner/Anti zoner who can space quite nicely and becomes a very large threat whilst in demon form. She will destroy anynoe who is jump happy.

They are literally on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Raven is ok in the game, slightly above average. If you want to dominate with your new character go with Frost. She's top 3 in the game at worst, and an argument can be made for Frost being the best char in the game.

You're asking if you'd rather have $40 or $100. Go with Frost. It's a no brainer.

I think I'll try out Frost. I don't really like zoning in fighting games. I picked up Sinestro day 1 and couldn't play him anymore because he is 98% zoning and 2% combos. Then again Batman is super rush down, hopefully her combos and play style will feel a bit different. After playing a battle with Frost it kind of feels like her daggers are slow but makes up for it with the nice chunk of damage, and if you whif iceberg it's really going to sting. But I do love the air dash, it's easy mode cross ups especially if they don't wake up with something.

I'm also banking on martian manhunter being exactly what I'm looking for, but for now I'm going to do it up with Frost. Feel free to add me on xbox live if you want to practice or show me some Frost combos haha. Thanks for the help!

Frost should basically be up in the opponents face with her Slide/F3/J3 as they all are godly and lead to severe damage.

Get your guns on. Sheriff is back.
Go with Frost. Out of the characters you already play you have no one like her. You already have teleport mobile folk like Batgirl and jump killer telekinetics like Green Lantern and if you already have those Raven isn't needed in the least. Killer Frost is a backpocket style of play you dont currently have in your arsenal and her pressure overwhelms in an entirely different manner than Batman's.

Go with Frost.

Frost is really cool combos and freeze. I started her a couple of days ago and she's really fun. Her rushdown and damage is really high. It's hard to resist using slide too often though.

Grundy, Bane, Hawkgirl......

I understand the meaning though, for a new player who doesnt realize that armor or any air game shuts down Frost pretty hard. She in theory rapes 3/4 of the cast, but is stomped by simple tactics from some.

She is quite the Glass, or shall I say Ice, cannon in a way.
