MY HARLEY RIDE:
Hang on tight boys and gals.. This is going to be an uphill ride!!!
-no pro champions Harley
-we are left to fend for our own on combos/tech
-boards like BUFF wish list and Best Harley players seem to get more love than the combos, the matchups or the general conversations...

Harley is my injustice character- period.. No secondary, no backups.. Just Harley..
-So I look at her and think... Wow.. A character where MY play decides a win or a loss .. Nothing broken.. Nothing abuseable.... just a solid character- NICE!!!
-Then, I take a look at her against the rest of the characters..which some are built as easy mode.. Traits that work (some traits that MAKE the character) safe normals, mix-up mid strings, legit high low game or legit zoning game.. And I truly start to see how inferior my "solid" character is..

I do not cry, I do not scream.. I continue to find ways to win with her... All while having fun!!
Putting time and effort in with my brethren here on boards..trying, trying, trying..

I get some good messages.. "AWESOME HARLEY!!!" Or " Wow... Nice!"

I get some salty messages.. "Spamming no talent fuck", or "Harley sucks and is low tier just like her players", or "OWNED YOUR SORRY ASS" (many of these can be taken from a win or a loss)

Then comes patch day... Batgirls release..
- matches are starting to become harder to win because people have exp against Harley now..
- NRS decides to hit Harley with a fix (fine)
A nerf that is patch noted (2,D3)
A nerf that did not make path notes (1,2,3 became a soft knock down)
All while not giving her a single act of love.. Or a stitch of help..

I defend her and question why, here on the boards and in game lobbies... I do not get angry, I do not scream.. I continue to find ways to win with her, all while having fun!!! Putting in more time and effort with my brethren here on the boards..trying, trying, trying...

I am loving the feel of the "against all odds" Harley.. The underdog...
However, I feel that she could use some love at the very least some help..
Yet, I don't want her to get bulked up to top tier to where EVERYONE picks up a Harley/pocket Harley..

This is my experience with Harley..

I main Harley. She is my favorite DC character. I planned on maining her the second she was announced.

I was at a tournament this past weekend in my hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana.

The Injustice turnout was actually pretty awesome. And I ended up taking 5th overall.

My biggest gripe about that placing is the characters I lost to. Aquaman put me into losers. And Superman knocked me out of the tournament.

I went against nothing but mid-high to high tier characters. 2 Green Lanterns, 1 Doomsday, 1 Batman,1 Aquaman, and 1 Superman. I really hate the mindset of playing the characters that are considered the best, but unfortunately being in the scene that I'm in it's just how it's gonna be.

But I will continue to play and learn with Harley Quinn. Cause she's a baaaaaaaad bitch.



That's enough of my rambling, though.

Overall, I love playing the character. She's super fun. And adorable. And I absolutely love getting complimented for my Harley play(I haven't really played too much online. Just tournaments and with my training buddies.) Hopefully some awesome tech gets discovered that catapults her a little higher up in the tiers. :p

But I spend more time with Harley because she's not Basic... And she reminds me of Skarlet from MK9 without being OP

it's been rough. I hope I can go to a tourney and win later this year but I'm still in high school so...yeah...no.

I will soon pick up scorpion. But Harley will my main priority.

Not rambling at all- that is what I'm looking for! Also, as a tournament Harley- I'm sure your input would be appreciated on our other threads- Matchup and Combos specifically :)

Also- to you and any other Harley players.. Stick with it when the going gets rough- riding a Harley is not always easy.. But much like a horse or bike, if you survive the fall, getting up and sticking with it is how to get better :)

She been my day 1 for sure and I love every second of playing her yeah there been days when i wanted to say fuck this but I just keep trucking and learn from where I mess up. I def trying to get her tourney ready cause there a shop around my way thats starting to do weekly fight nights. So I'm always on these forums. But like I say countless time with her is that she is not easy mode and I like that.

Speaking of learn from where I mess up NRS need to have a replay feature for matches so I can see where I messed up in a match.

Harley & Zatana is all I need.
I've been playing her from Day 1. She is my main, but of course I use other characters with friends i.e. GL, Joker, Batman, WW.. Overall, I've gotten mixed messages from people from "Nice Job" to "Wow You're the first Harley I've seen" to "wow *** such a ***" (the normal rage/salt messages). She's 100% because like most Harley Mains say, she really has nothing to "abuse". She is honest in most to all of her matches and that's why I love her. She has no "flowchart" and that's what makes her unique because your opponent is ALWAYS on their toes worrying about what mixup/set-up you'll pull out next. Hopefully we get about 3/4 more costumes and then I'll be fine with our Girl.

It's been rough alright, but I love the character too much to drop her, I really like how you have to be really creative with her offense to get somewhere with her and it's kinda true to her character as well. I do have a pocket Green Lantern but I always end up back on Harley in our scene here. Wins feels extremely satisfying with her considering how many characters that doesn't put in half the effort Harley does to get wins, she's really hard to play imo. Her clash quotes are <3

We'll get through this Harley players :) (until next month when she's S tier :p )

That saying, I think she's like bottom 5 now.

I'm pretty bad at fighting games in general (but still enjoy them) so I don't know how /if I'll be able to contribute. That being said, I decided to main Harley a while back and appreciate all the work players like Shogun, Fergus, Webs, Ronald, and others are putting in on the character.

I think Harley is a good example of a well rounded character. So has lots of tools, none of them really abusable. She takes some thought to play well and I love playing with her. I love it when Superman players HAVE to resort to strong zoning to stand a chance against me.

Seeing others do well with Harley is cool and that makes me even more 'disappointed' when a top tier character gets nerfed and it's playerbase start crying.

I like to play characters like Harley, that are not used often. I hope she stays that way.

I decided to play Harley pretty much before the game came out and I've never regretted the choice. She is the most fun character to use.

Honestly, my easiest wins are with Harley because everyone underestimates her. And the reach of her hammer. =)

Thanks man, Catwoman just fits my style better and I'm much better with her than I was with Harley as frustrating as that realization was.
I still think Harley is viable and would be even more so with some minor buffs from NRS so...here's holding out for hope.

Harley plays just the way I like it, reliable oki and 50/50s, just like Yoshimitsu from Soul Calibur. It's ironic that she's my play style since shes my favorite DC character.

See that's my opposite experience with Harley. Harley's Oki's, 50/50's, wakeup, trait, and rushdown felt too limited for my taste but she had decent mobility, space control tools, ambiguous low starter in b+2, and a good B3/F3. However once I started dabbling with Selina, it was love at first sight.
