Why we need beast boy in IGAU

Beast Boy is cool in all but I just don't think his powers would work in this game, if we got an animal character it'd probably be Vixen she'd be the easiest to put in the game but tbh I'd be more than happy if we got either of the 3

Here's why shapeshifters will never be in fighting games, whether it be Beast Boy, Martian Manhunter, Animal Man, etc:

Think of all the possible animal forms you could add for Beast Boy. Now lets say a player were to do a combo using some of the various animal forms. Here's what I mean by that

A = Lion
B = Tiger
C = Bear

Possible combos

A to B
or
A to C
or
B to C
etc,

You get the point. That was with just three forms, there would probably be more, so consider that as well as every time he isn't doing a move, he's in human form. Or if he gets hit in one his animal forms. The point I'm trying to get across is it's REALLY impractical to make such a concept work. Think about all the animal types and combos. Every time he changes from one form to any other form, there has to be a really complex animation. It would take a REALLY long time to make that function probably. Also if some of you are thinking that they could just have a flash or something, it would only work on the surface, the bones in the animation would still need to be changed as if the flash wasn't there.

Lets say for the sake of argument you have the time, resources and energy to do this (for just one character BTW. Not exactly a great payoff in the grand scheme of development) you have to make it function with the game's mechanics. These fights are relatively fast-paced, it would look really odd for Beast Boy to change forms constantly like that. Also what if BB gets hit in between changes, you'll need another animation or something to fix that. Or what is Batman or someone does their super move on him in Lion form, what then? The victim part of the super move is somewhat generic, so having a lion or something like that in there would throw the whole system off.

Do you guys understand what I mean? It's just too much work for one character slot! It's just not worth it in my opinion.
On this note I think BB would be cool, but the time they'd have to put into him alone could be used to make several characters. Not only for the whole animation aspect but the hit boxes would be all over the place and have to be messed with to fit his different animals. Idk if it's worth putting that much time and resources into one character. I feel like animal man and vixen would be better in terms of game play, but I'd love any of them. If they can get him to work he could be a cool edition.

Why do we need Beast Boy in Injustice?
  • He's one of THE MAIN Teen Titans along with Starfire, Robin/Nightwing, Cyborg, and Raven
  • His animal shape shifting ability would make for fun and very unique game play. He'd be able to shape shift into various animals of various sizes, meaning he could have very good combo potential. It could also mean he could have very nice mobility and evasive counter attacking. He could fly across the screen as a fast and small bird to avoid ground projectiles and then shape shift into an Elephant and land on the opponent. He could turn into a mouse to avoid a ground attack and then turn into a lion and maul the opponent.
  • Beast Boy can also change into a hybrid, which has all the animals' powers rolled into one. He has demonstrated the ability to transform into animals many times larger than their actual forms: among others, he's been seen transforming into a human-sized tarantula and a giant snake. He has also been seen transforming into mythical animals such as a phoenix and a freaking dragon, guys. Beast Boy can also shape shift into demonic animals
  • Beast Boy being made as DLC in Injustice would show other Fighting Game developers that NRS is not lazy, not afraid to tackle the technically hard stuff and would show people that they have some serious programing skills.
  • Beast Boy has PERSONALITY, CHARACTER, he likes to joke around. I could see him bringing in a few laughs.
  • Beast Boy's Best Friend Cyborg and his girlfriend Raven are in, makes sense that Beast Boy should be in too. And it would also make sense to add in Star Fire as well.
  • Beast Boy would be visually stunning and pleasing to watch in action. Half of his special moves could probably take the cake in the "Best Looking Special Move" Thread in this forum.
A lot of you guys are saying Beast Boy would be very difficult to make, that Animal Man and Vixen would be easier for NRS to make. You know what I have to say on that?

Stop assuming that Beast Boy would be too technical and difficult for NRS to make, I haven't seen Ed Boon or anyone else on the team saying Beast Boy is too hard for them. Have some faith in their game developing skills people! Don't assume NRS is lazy either. Sure, their DLC choices aren't that great in my opinion... but they're unique and visually pleasing to watch, at least Lobo and Batgirl so far. Seeing that Batgirl is pretty damn different than Batman gameplay-wise, I trust NRS will make Zod, MMH, Red Hood, and even... Power Girl.... play VERY differently from other characters. NRS isn't just copy/pasting the characters, they're working their asses off trying to make these characters unique from each other.

Also, just like to say that I'm not bashing Animal Man, I don't doubt that he would be a great character, I would just prefer Beast Boy.

Well, that's all I have to say for now on the matter, just saying what I had off the top of my head.

Easy fix to that, make him be the last DLC character they work on for Injustice.

I've got a few ideas for Beast Boy's move set, but I should try to find some time to actually organize it first.

What are you thoughts on how he should play. I Think that every animation (with the exception of his basic stance) should be a transformation. A panther/jaguar walk would be cool. It'd be the first character with a walk that has a low hitbox, his b3 could be a T-rex tail swing and wolf tackle command grab would be sick.
I think it would be cool to watch him fight if every attack was a different animal. A combo might start with a gorilla punch and end with an crocodile death roll.I would make him a Stance character: Predator and Prey stance. Which would just switch the animals he turns into.
Personally I don't care whether or not he makes into the game any time soon; I actually hope he doesn't. I think if we got him this gen he'd be similar to Martian Manhunter; except more animals and less Mr. Fantastic.
