We are not good examples of "top level Banes" so don't take last night's beatings with as much weight as you feel. Its not that bad.I look at a 6-4 matchup that is a slight disadvantage. 7-3, you have to guess right quite a lot where as they don't have to work nearly as hard. Batman qualifies for this IMO.
His bane could not be high lvl ( even if you don't know that ) but it doesn't take specific game skill to breakdown a matchup and the options a char has against another. We are not good examples of "top level Banes" so don't take last night's beatings with as much weight as you feel. Although true, he didn't have this opinion (or at least not openly) until last night's lobby. His bane could not be high lvl ( even if you don't know that ) but it doesn't take specific game skill to breakdown a matchup and the options a char has against another.
True, I didn't. I truly thought it was 6-4, but if you actually think that Batman we played was SKILLED as a player/thinker, you're insane brother. A scrubby Batman can beat 3-4 competent Bane players who are far from scrubs, that SCREAMS 7-3 matchupAlthough true, he didn't have this opinion (or at least not openly) until last night's lobby.
I've had it for a month of offline and online games vs NW.Although true, he didn't have this opinion (or at least not openly) until last night's lobby.
You charged into about 3 parries for free. I'm not particularly familiar with the batman MU either.True, I didn't. Rinse repeat, it's so easy and hard to stop as well. Spam trait and projectiles, Bane can't charge through so he has to dash block in while he's getting ass raped w/chip damage. He does get in and has VERY few options to stop Batman's ridiculous jump in moves if done right. Does his combos, has plenty of meter and runs away and rinse repeat. I don't see how it's not 7-3 my man
I think that right there should tell you how bad that matchup is.We lost to a scrubby Batman. It happens, that same batman lost to a d.2 d.2 aquaman, which I then proceeded to body mercilessly.
I saw you get snagged by things that you should have been capable of avoiding. Hell, even MLGzus caught him with about 7 or 8 AA grabs (which are surprisingly good btw) and lost out because of his command grab habits. Keep us out? He can batarang, trait, and zip line. All 3 let us cover half the screen and if he jumps away, cover another half and sit in his face. If you know his only option to open us up is that j.2, then double punch his arse.Doombawkz. I played him 3 times. Obviously the first time I tried to scrub him out, didn't work. The 2nd and 3rd time, you literally have to play almost perfect. It's his ability to keep Bane out IMO that makes it 7-3. Once he's in jumping range, we have to risk Venom Upper w/armor to stop the J2 and if he baits it and blocks it, we eat much more damage.
And that's my point: A scrubby aquaman beat a scrubby batman, that all the more proves how skewed Batman has to work vs Bane and vice versa. The MU is not impossible, but it's highly unlikely a top level Bane knocks out a top level Batman. I have less problems w/Superman and that's saying something
Its not hard to get in though. All of us got in, but we all got scrubbed out for whatever reason. And he hit him with about 8 of them, they don't do THAT much damage. He also punished every batslide with a d.1 and nothing else, when a b.23 would've done a much better job. We all made mistakes, that doesn't say a thing about the MU.-snip-
The batman was scrubby, he fired off his trait at full screen instead of using it to cover himself coming in. We all got scrubbed out, it happens. I've been scrubbed out by Deathstroke before, but imo that MU is in our favor now. Bats isn't easy, but one scrub beating a few decent people? Happens, literally, ALL THE TIME.Dude, if three different Bane players who are competent and practically live on this forum and pioneer tech are getting bodied by day 1 scrub Batman, then the MU is probably ass. Also, I'm not understanding how it's not hard to get in on Batman. That trait...
Block dash, block dash, let him jump back into the corner while I take about 10% in chip.Batman doesn't need to work hard to keep Bane out.
Hello trait one at a time and batarangs. Goodbye Bane.
Probably a 7-3
So basically if you lose against a character used in a scrubby manner, and other people do too, its automatically a losing MU?-snip-
Maybe once or twice, yea. But a scrub getting consistent win streaks on good players doesn't happen unless it's a bad matchup. The batman was scrubby, he fired off his trait at full screen instead of using it to cover himself coming in. Followed directly by laughing at his wake-up attacks for 18 seconds.
There were 4 of us in the room. He had a streak of 10.Maybe once or twice, yea. But a scrub getting consistent win streaks on good players doesn't happen unless it's a bad matchup.
If he chanses upon 4 meter, he will build about 1/3th of a single bar burning every single batarang, firing off trait, and the like. In the time it takes him to activate his trait (if he is firing it off one at a time) we get a dash. Every batarang, a dash. If he wastes all of his meter burning them, more power to him but the lack of a push block, wager capability, and meter burning for his combos will hurt him more. Its pretty hard to dash that properly due to the naturally inconsistent way that his trait at a time works. Plus, if he wants, he can easily meterburn his batarangs for huge blockstun, locking you down. And he doesn't find it hard to get meter when hes keeping you pinned down.
With Batman, its a hell to get in, and while he does have shitty wake up options, he does have good pressure himself.
Ok, now you're losing me in the argument. We all agree it's a bad MU already. You said yourself Bane loses 6-4. I'm not really understanding why it's so important for me to say it's 6-4 vs 7-3 to be honest. IMO, it's 7-3 and I gave my reasons and opinion why. You are stating 6-4, ok cool. However, that's still a losing MU, no?So basically if you lose against a character used in a scrubby manner, and other people do too, its automatically a losing MU?
People are still losing by the dozen to god awful doomsdays, and he is a 6-4 for us.
Theres a difference between 7-3 and 6-4 as you stated yourself. 6-4 is difficult but manageable, while 7-3 is us having to do 90% more work while in reality its the same amount of work just applied in a different way. 6-4 isn't often considered a "losing" MU so much as a "disadvantageous" MU. If you run a 6-4 against someone, you have an advantage but its not particularly or completely in your favour.Ok, now you're losing me in the argument. We all agree it's a bad MU already.
