strat. vs scorpion

hey guys. ive been getting better and better at mk 9 by the day. one thing ive noticed is that my friend which is about the same skill level as me or a little below, can beat me with scorpion so handily, that its almost not fun. i use kung lao. now what my question is is he kept a good distance away from me and when i would get hit, he would either go with hell fire or the spear. now, after time he was mixing it up so good that if i stayed blocking for the spear, he would use fire and when i jumped to dodge the fire, he would get me with the spear, combo me and when i went to get back up, i could not tell what move he was going to use. and thats all he had to offer me, but it work so good. do you guys have any idea what i should do to stay out of a situation like that or even a safe way to evade either of those two moves? thanx

Ignore Hellfire – it’s meager 7% and Scorp is at disadvantage after using it. Just eat it and proceed to pressure him (dive kick is your friend). Or zone him to death (low hat is your weapon of choice): you’ll stuff hellfire and spear is horrible in projectile battles.

ok so basically just make sure i keep pressure on him. i see were ur coming from just eating the fire and getting on the inside. definetly want to stay out of the spear. gotcha. it seems risky but i will try it afetr work

what do you mean at disadvantage when using it? what kind of punishes can you do against this shit?

If you are hit will hellfire, your character will be able to recover before Scorpion, so if you do an attack as soon as the burn animation ends, your attack will come out before Scorpion's attack will.

Be careful though: If Scorpion has x ray, he can use it after the hellfire, and nothing will beat it.

I agree, wid kung lao keep pressure on scorpion, at an amateur online level, most people look for set ups from the spear, with can be punished on block with certain characters. Kung lao shud def abuse his dive kick, but dont make it predictable.... also use his teleport and mix it up with over heads and throws. Obviously your friends gameplay is predictable and you have figured out the crux of his playing style. SO you now have to think about how to combat it..... and make him think twice about what he is doing
