The UFGT9 Props and Shoutouts Thread

I'm more for giving props than complaining; so I'm going to kick this off. Post here if you have congratulations, props etc. for UFGT participants. So:

WoundCowboy -- You already know you're one of my favorite people to give props to, but you deserve it; you did your thing at UFGT. The road to top 8 was a tough one, and you had hardly any easy matches through top 16 all the way to 2nd. You repped for Sinestro and NorCal. People always seem to leave you out of Top 8 talk, but hopefully they won't after this.

Slips -- This goes without saying, but you majorly represented and did GGA proud in this tournament. Deathstroke's funeral is cancelled -- he's too busy counting the money from all the contracts he carried out this week.

GGA 16 Bit -- Props. You introduced the world to Killer Frost and forced everyone to go from underrating her to counting her as a serious threat. You defeated a bunch of people that were held up as surefire top 8's.

Sabin -- Aaaaah? Testers? Old school? Fundamentals? I was happy to see you in a groove in Top 8. You have some nasty tricks up your sleeve with Lantern and you pulled out some extremely clutch victories.

Heroic Legacy -- Whoever you are, you sir are indeed a hero. Props to Chicago.

FOREVER KING -- Yessir.. You made a huge statement in this tourney. Your Batman is filthy and your Raven was dangerous as well. Great matches man.

Denzell and Pig Of The Hut -- It's always great to see you guys play. You guys always bring the excitement and hype and I'm glad we have both of you in the community. Looking forward to seeing more of the Green and Yellow.

GGA Dizzy -- Dizzy-san: Your cage is out of control. That was one of scariest performances I've ever seen in an MK Top 8. Your wrote a textbook on playing Mortal Kombat, and it was great to see it elevated to such an art even after the release of I:GAU. Congrats.

kanechump -- You are bringing it every week; and RDK is in every top 8. No one should scoff at WNF ever again after UFGT.


EGP Wonder_Chef -- Props for losing all your money in SaltyBet and then getting it back again. You're like the Charles Barkley of the Injustice community.

Props to WoundCowboy for kicking ass as usual. I know this is in the Injustice forum, but props to GGA Dizzy for winning MK and to the entire GGA crew for doing really well in both MK and Injustice, and for putting on a great show. Props to everybody who came out to support Injustice and MK!

Alright...where do I start?

DJ L Toro -- Always a pleasure to humor you in mk. Ermac's tkp IS 14 frames though dog. :p Also it was cool hanging out in whatever that damn bar was. Good luck in your VXG endeavors later down the line and I look forward to seeing you in future tournaments.

Pig Of The Hut -- Alright, you destroyed me with Sinestro, but I will work on it. I was just waiting for you to say "get this scrub the hell outta here!" after the 20th loss. :( Your Sinestro is no joke though, at least not for poor Harley. Thanks for giving me some time on the game.

Glass_Sword -- Hey man, good to see you again! Sorry I couldn't give you the practice with Johnny/Sonya though. heh. I'll still pass out ass whoppin's with Ermac though if you're ever down. lol

Smarrgasm -- You might have been a little washed up in mk, but that didn't make my vengeance any less sweeter. :D We need to get casuals in sometime in Injustice though.

RiBBz22 -- Congratulations! You were the only person in at the tournament who actually beat me! :p I'll have my revenge on you later though. I took Smar out of the que and now you're in his spot. lol As with Smar, lets play some casuals next time too!

Jim -- Hey nice Freddy! Unfortunately the people behind us that were coaching you were also coaching me. hehe. If you ever want to run the Ermac mu when we're both present somewhere just ask. I'll be more than happy to play mk any day.

STB Shujinkydink -- You sent me to Chris G. You're a terrible person. :D But really, I'm glad I caught you before I left the tournament. Thanks for giving me some time on the game though. Also next time I'll play both you and Goldfish. Next time the price of going out for a smoke will be a match or two with me. :) I meant to ask tonight, but as you can see I was kinda pressed for time. lol oh yea, FUCK Quan Chi.

And for me personally: Scarlett, Espio, Squeaker101, STB Sgt Reed Thank you guys for sparring with me in both games. Yes, its online, but it still helps. This was my best tournament outing yet, and I wouldn't of done so well without good players to play against on a semi-consistent basis. Did I make it out of pools? Fuck no. Will I eventually? If I continue to practice the way I do I'm sure I could. I was so close this time...4th in my pool in Injustice and 3rd in Mk. I finally wasn't that guy who goes 0-2 in tournaments, and I owe it to you guys. :D

This was a great tournament to go to. Major, MAJOR shoutouts to Keits for outdoing himself from last year. The venue was perfect, the space abundant, and the salt glorious. Congratulate your father again for me. (I was a regular at divekick 21 at his table.) And major accolades for running things so smoothly. You make me want to quit locals, or at the very least not drive so far for them. See you next year hopefully!

Lol my bad MITDJT, I didn't get to see you on stream -- but everybody said you were tearing it up and Vegas def. represented at UFGT; I heard some crazy stuff went down with you guys ending up Rip Van Winkle'ing some pools, and I felt bad for you; but I hope it wasn't too much of a drag and you guys had fun anyway.

Did you get some IGAU casuals in?

Looking forward to seeing you guys again -- is EVO the next big tourney you'll be at, or are you planning to go to anything else?

And awwww yeaahhh, the showdown at EVO is going to be the real deal.

yep evo will be the next big one for us, we will probably go to a cali local if they have one in June. Flawedzilla is going CEO, so vegas blood will be at another major soon. I actually got no IGAU casuals in, so I went from 0 2 in my first one to getting dq'd lmao, well i'll use that to my advantage come evo, no one knows how I play >:) haha. Denzell for sure would've got top 8 mk, but we got to wait till evo. And thanks for the shout of course, I will eventually make a shoutout thread just for you since you the homie haha.

Thanks for that. I wasn't originally going to do any commentary and let other people step in. Medina convinced me to do at least one match and then nobody else wanted to do commentary due to some saltiness so I stayed on.

I know Injustice commentary was a bit rocky since there wasn't anyone else from the community on the mic aside from me but it worked out okay I think (aside from one comment someone else made about a diff tourney)

Shout outs to twitch for finally making the iPhone twitch app to work so I could enjoy watching listening to the stream when I was supposed to be finishing up charts at the hosp this past weekend.

Damn that weekend was fun. It was one big 50-50 parade.

Shout outs to all my Chicago buddies I got to see again including the entire GGA crew. GGA soonk...I'm just playin'

Shout outs to Killphil who actually made me sweat with Harley which I respected. I went in not knowing that MU and it almost cost me.

Shout outs to Reno_Racks, it was awesome getting to meet you and play some casuals and eat your 40 dollar pizza which was absolutely effing GODLIKE. Hope to see you out at another tourney and keep rocking the jalapenos on everything.

Shout outs to Glass_Sword for getting bodied to the point of what I thought might be a mental breakdown during casuals, and then blowing me up later that night for the two losses I had to his Doomsday, then apologizing for it after he came back from getting food. Class Sword in my book.

Shout outs to Pig Of The Hut for subjecting himself to grinding crappy MU's and looking for tech in them. I totally respect the hell out of your work ethic in this game. The reverse pop-off on the crowd you had was awesome against the Shazam player. Also, it was "cool" to "chill" with you.

Shout outs to Relaxedstate for being such a cool dude and kicking it with me during the tournament. I enjoyed the conversations we had during the weekend and I really should have picked Smoke, right??

Medina4life, great to see you again, glad you are done with school and visible in the scene again.... and I still can't believe my Skarlet lost to your Jax in our random best of 3...

Shout outs to FOREVER KING for not starting to cry when we passed the McDonalds on the way to a Burger King

Shout outs to WoundCowboy who is the nicest dude and someone in the community I am really glad to of had the chance to meet in person. Your run in Injustice was sick this weekend.

Shout outs to Smarrgasm who was fun to BS with this weekend and props to your Black Adam being legit as hell

Biggest shout outs to my CoCo buddies m2dave and Master D. who took me to the event and let me stay in their room over the weekend. It was as fun as guessing right on my 50-50 with KF every single time. That was really nice of you both, so thank you!

Last but not least...Shout outs to Metopolis Rooftop for putting an end to my tournament run. Please nerf the drone explosions on this stage NRS...

Glass_Sword whom I played the majority of my casuals against in both MK and Injustice. He's getting a really good Freddy and I'm glad I could help him with it along with him helping me against Freddy/Smoke, two of my worst matchups. Also, he's just a great guy.


FOREVER KING. Since my first major this guy has been helping me out and just being cool to me in general. Played a bunch of casual matches in MK though I regret it because his Kenshi got used to my Sonya and he sent me to losers.....though that probably would've happened anyway.


Forever King Jr (don't even know if that's his name lol). Played a bunch of Injustice casuals and had a nice time just joking around with the kid.

I'm sure I'm missing some people I played in casuals or talked to but I'm drawing a blank. Sorry if I did.
