Edit/Update: Just came from dibbz, it's mad lame. Ryck is still in BR at the Smash tourney (lol). Vu, I'll be playing at my friend's place till 9:45. You can come here if you want. It's close to dibbz, just give me a call: 504 872 1765.

Im in Slidell/Hammond area and have been looking for some local tournaments or something. Most people in my area are all about smash bros.....

I live in Houma and I'm trying really hard to get something going around here. Im trying to get like 10 people to read Tom brady's guides and dedicate some time to get ready for a tournament I'm gonna hold. They are hard headed though and don't care much about the guides and I'm gonna dominate them. I think like 2 maybe 3 of them might possibly try to compete but I don't know. If I can atleast get 5 of them ready maybe that will spark more intrest in them when they see how fun it is. So is there anyone around Houma that is good at mk9 or what? What's going on this town is boring as fuck and we need to start a scene. I got like 9 people I see on a daily basis that have the game...so maybe we can work together to get it going. I smell potential lurking

Is this a samll cash tournament you are holding? Im not sure how far of a drive houma is from slidell, never been to that part of Louisiana. There are a lot of MK fans here, but they are casual/garbage as hell.

Houma is about 1.5 hours away from Slidell. I'm still trying to figure out what the prize could be. Im not sure if I wanna tell people to throw in and make a big purse cuz they might think I'm just trying to take their money. Me putting up a cash prize out of pocket is out of question. I was thinking like a 12 pack and maybe everyone throw in 5 bucks. u wanna come?

Most of the people who still play MK9 do so at Dibbz in metairie on monday nights. There were tournaments in Baton Rouge during the Gameware monthlies. I know they aren't having one this month.

We only used this as a back-up when SRK site decides to be ass, which is often.

I'm up here in Bossier where an MK 9 scene seems non-existent. I might consider drive down there to Houma but it seems a bit too far for me. Glad to know there's some activity there, hope it goes well!

I myself am an MK player from LA. If something is happening in Houma, it is possible for me to attend, as I live near Thibodaux. The problem from what I can tell is that most gaming-related things don't thrive here unless you're in Lafayette or Baton Rouge.

shit i missed u. I was checking back but not on friday or sat. The tournament went well! Turned out better than I thought it would. You guys need to make it for bayou battle 2.

Hey guys, A.R.K. IV is coming up September 17th-18th in Jacksonville, AR! We are expecting ~200 people with games such as SSF4:AE, SF 3S:OE, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 9, Melee, Brawl, BB:CS II, and more! Competitors are coming in from at least 6-7 several states to compete!

Note that our tournament is working on securing sponsorships from well known companies which will each be providing additional prizes and bonus pots for our tournaments. The Traveling Circus has expressed interest as of this time. Also, well-known regional modder DaRabidDuckie will be on hand to provide dual mods (PS3 <-> 360) for fight sticks.
