My thoughts on new Balance Patch

I don't understand what people think is so bad with Harley. People are consumed with the idea that her trait sucks, but she has so many basic tools that are plenty awesome..
Many characters have many basic tools.. Many characters also have a trait that in some way helps them.. Harley does not have that option.. She is a hybrid, she can zone okay, she can rush okay, but cant compete with pure Zoners and pure
Rushdown..
She gets blown up if she hits her trait button.. Her trait is a sorry excuse of a non finished move that slid through the cracks and made it to a final game.
Go ahead.. Use Harley.. Grow to love her.. Then use her trait and each time you touch it get smashed for HEAVY combo..

What really got me mad is how they nearly fixed Bane, but ignored Lobo.

IMO the only other buff Bane needs to be viable is a speed buff when he's on Venom.
I do like how they buffed his dash. Let's see if it's like Doomsday's.

But Lobo?

Lobo needs a faster b+2.
db+2 and 3 to be safe on block.
Less frames on b+1 2.
Armor on both his chain and shoulder part of bf+3
Some invicibility on bf+3 on wakeup.
Have his trait be like Green Arrow's. Same frames, load it after any move like Green Arrow's.

Give him all that and he becomes tournament viable.
The way he is now, is just an odd pick that might get someone off guard.
I have a few issues with those suggestions personally.



Lobo needs a faster b+2. - I suppose it wouldn't hurt, as it stands it's almost impossible to land this outside of anything but a setup, even if you land a D1, this will still get beat by a low poke, which is what a smart player will do knowing whats coming next.

db+2 and 3 to be safe on block. - As I said earlier, I don't have any issues with this either, as the chains are crucial to his game plan, though I still dislike how the high chain sends the opponent fullscreen.

Less frames on b+1 2. - This I disagree with, the string is fine as is, it's got a decent speed to it, gives frame advantage on block, and can be hitconfirmed into his MB chain setups. I don't think this needs to be touched.

Armor on both his chain and shoulder part of bf+3 - I do think that adjusting the armor on his MB charge to have armor from the start would be an extremely welcomed buff, as right now, Lobo can lose the meter before the armor actually kicks in, making you not only lose the wakeup, but lose a bar in the process.

Some invicibility on bf+3 on wakeup. - I think fixing the armor would fix this issue also, I disagree with anyone that thinks his regular charge NEEDS armor however, it doesn't at all IMO, it's the players duty to be smart with the move, making it too easy to throw out would be braindead.

Have his trait be like Green Arrow's. Same frames, load it after any move like Green Arrow's. - My personal buff for the trait is to let Lobo stack the shells, It makes no sense how you can press the trait button multiple times, but you can only ever have one shell in at one time, Lobo has to sacrifice screen space and damage sometimes to get a nuclear shot, all because you cant stack it when you have fullscreen room, which you could instead use to stack up on shells, potentially making the opponent start to attack to prevent you doing it, almost like Hakans oil in sf4.

Would you agree with me here? I think the changes would be fair.

Honestly, Scatter Bomb should hit on crouch block and have less advantage. Maybe around +1-3 on block. The start up isn't too bad

As a nightwing main, I can't ask for much. I'm already spoiled.
I would enjoy a more useful SB, but NW's already complete.

A few things about patching videogames on the console from someone with at least some experience in the industry :


1. There are A Lot of chanes in this patch, the amount of QA and development time would probably be much longer than most of you are assuming.

2. These patches have to be approved by both Sony and MS which takes at least a full week in a completely optimal situation

3. A whole new character is coming tomorrow , please remember how long it takes to full implement a new character in a game like this

4. Lobo is 2 weeks old. Even if they decided the greatest ideas for patching him in hour 1 they might have not made it into this patch.

5. If cold breathe is still not -1 tomorrow it could be in the next patch maybe with some black Adam love/hate as well.
 
Catwoman is definitely better than Killer Frost now.

I wouldn't consider the Cyborg changes "nerfs". He was just fixed to be silly (down from stoopid).

I love Harley, but I never feel compelled to touch her trait. If I do, it's to shame the other player, which I enjoy a lot, and feel suits her character well. Not all characters have same number of options, especially based on just a difference in one button; while Harley has no use for her trait, she is compensated for by being a jack of all trades.

I actually agree.

Stackable shells are also another option for a trait buff and would make his MB db+1 something worth spending meter on.

I guess less frames on his launch part of b+1, 2 is overkill. I just wanted to dish my usual 50% combos on it without having to input a hard 1 frame link.

I really wish to see this character becomes tournament viable. He's one of the most awesome characters in the roster.

Let me get this straight... if enough people that play a character complain loud enough, they get what they want?

Nightwing's staff d1 takes too many frames to start up. It should execute at least 3 frames faster!

I agree her trait suits her character. However in a game with traits that break armor, allows you to fall out of ground based combos, stone skin to help get in.. A useless gimmick (not even worthy of a taunt) is sub-par.. The fact that you are never compelled to touch the trait button should tell you something.. Hell, at least make it a true taunt... ANYTHING other than a personal invite for the opponent to come hit you with their best combo. If traits were minor and gave each fighter something silly for each character to utilize, I would be ok.. But not as they compare to the rest of the cast. Superman has many tools, and possibly one of the best traits in the game.. Batman is also a jack of all trade character with an option for everything plus a useable/top trait... Sorry man, I appreciate where you are coming from, but broken is broken and its bullshit/unacceptable.
