Vanilla SFIV was far from solid

Ryu-Trade into Ultra, Super Trap, one of the few characters with normals that weren't gimped
Sagat- Trade into Ultra, St. LK cancellable on second hit, hella good frames and boxes
Akuma- Everything

Only games I can think of semi solid the first go are VF5 and........yeah that's about it

Sadly, vanilla versions of games can be the most fun. I absolutely loved SFIV. Yes Sagat was overpowered, but certain things were better. Every characters damage output was higher, so if you made a mistake you truly paid. I miss it

So maybe ppl should enjoy IGAU while they can. Afterall, it could get worse.
