Stop overrating MK9's Balance, Injustice is better

Injustice is better made and more balance than MK9....I think I need to stay off of TYM because it's turning into a bitchfest where known players are bitching every five seconds. It's really annoying.

Its so sad that after 20 years NRS still produce unbalanced and broken games.
For example Cyborg got the same iafb like Kabal, it means clear that NRS arent able to learn from past mistakes.

Kabal's IAFB wasn't the only thing that made him so great, it was also his close space control, dash cancels, and fullscreen punish ability. Also his IAFB could be combo'd off. Cyborg is the best zoner in the game, but he is not even close to Kabal.

Because I'm of the opinion he is the best zoner? Or because I think he doesn't have everything Kabal has? I'm fairly sure he can't combo off his own fireballs, and I know for sure he doesn't have a dash cancel infinite, and the frame data tells me his close game is not fantastic.

He sure looks like it? I don't play him, I am not putting that forward as a permanent thing, but he does appear to have by far the game's best zoning.

I think more characters in injustice seem to have really good tools than in mk9. We can't really say if it is more balanced yet due to it being so new (plus we may see new updates / patches that could make it even more balanced) but even in its current state it appears to have more characters that have awesome tools than the final version of mk9.

I wasn't necessarily disagreeing, but most of this was widely known about Kabal before EVO 2011, but God forbid the prospect of KL and Cyrax actually having holes, so Kabal magically went from acceptable, to unfathomably broken, to having mediocre zoning.

And just for the record, alot of people drew conclusions on Kenshi being a sitting duck after his frame data was discovered. We all know how that turned out.

I'm going to be honest though: in recent months, the only reason Kabal had more wins than any other character is because of REO and his skill level. If we take away REO's wins, you'd have this:

Summer Jam - Sonic Fox, Mileena
Seasons' Beatings - Dizzy, Johnny Cage
TTT2 - CD Jr., Lao
SCR - Tyrant, Jax
Winter Brawl - Curbo, Kabal
Final Round - Wafflez, Smoke
NCR - PBoard, Lao

Etc.

Honestly the only Kabal that has been consistently able to win big tournaments in the last year is REO.

Granted -- the character is still stronger than the entire cast. So maybe it's really a testament to the skill level of our players. But after people learned the matchup, the last year or so wasn't the 'Kabal Era', it was the REO Era and it should be remembered as such.

I'll agree with this, although I still think the top, especially Superman, shut down some characters a bit hard, I think it's probably a 7-3 at worst.

But yeah, the balance is ten times what MK9 is. I remember going to my first serious tournament to support MK9, and actually MK9's first major, at Powerup 2011 and trying my Stryker against REO in casuals and just getting curbstomped in a way that was disgusting. The way Kabal ruined what was a "supposedly" strong zoning character at his own game beat it into me that MK9 had abysmal balance.

And that was just IAFB and the early non-block infinite dash cancels. It only got worse from there.

Stryker loses to kabal. MK9 is broken.

I don't think i've seen people claiming MK9 is more balanced, and all i've said so far is the game has been out for a month and there is already a definite imbalance.

At this point in MK9's life (Month 1) everyone from the top player to the newbie was claiming all chars are viable, theres no unwinnable matches, etc. I don't blame people if they don't accept that analysis for Injustice because I definitely don't.

REO, CAT, CURBO, Detroit, KEVO da MAN, Eric Warda, Lulz Lou also recently won a tournament with Kabal, and how can we forget Michaelangelo and Online Tony.

No other character has more wins then Kabal and now character has had so many different players win by using the character.

Also, without Kabal you would only see 2-3 other characters winning and Kenshi would win the vast majority of the events. Trade one dictatorship for another..

Every single FG is going to be unbalanced. I don't understand why people get all upset and surprised when a FG isn't PERFECTLY balanced.

MK9 is way more unbalanced, but I still think MK9 is a deeper game allowing for more creativity all the way around.

I agree with you -- but Kabal's best era outside of REO was the period of time that ended after Anaheim/UFGT, which is why I took care to say "in recent months".

Can't argue with Kabal's strength as a character though -- I just wanted to point out that 'Kabal dominance' since UFGT 2012, has mostly been all REO.
