As I've posted before I've been working on learning Superman and his fundamentals for the past four or five days. Practicing sometimes for 5 hours straight on a single combo starter.

So I'm learning him, and I go into story mode playing on the hardest difficulty I have worked my way up to (medium) where I am at the last couple of battles. I need to get by Doomsday. I've tried 4 or 5 times and just keep getting beat. Each beating worse than the last one.

So I go back to practice mode for awhile then set up the match as a single fight. I make it in the same arena and everything to be as close to the fight I am stuck on. No luck in 3 tries.

So I don't get frustrated I decide to blow off a little steam and try as my personal favorite comic character of all time, Nightwing. Do you see where this is going???

Yep you guessed it. I take Doomsday down EASILY first time out.

Lesson I learned from this is.. Stick to your favorites... They never let you down in the end :)

Just remember, you can't learn fighting game fundamentals from practice mode. If I were you I'd check out footage of good players playing Superman, and see how he's supposed to be used and what his strengths are. Also check out footage of someone of whatever character beating a doomsday and see how they played him.

Once you know how to defend well and play to each character' strengths, you will laugh at Medium difficulty and make CPU doomsday bow before you :)

God damn it. I just got Knightfall Bane and he looks tits.

But God is he tough to win with. Superman outzones him, and does a better job up close.

Also, fuck black adam mirror matches. That shit is ugly and not fun.

These are my scrub woes.

As for Doomsday, you just need to learn the matchup, how to react to certain things and what his options are. That's the biggest barrier to entry. Practice, and practice. When I first started encountering doomsdays I was like 'fuck this broken ass shit', but then I got better and better as I fought more of them. And now, I relish Doomsday fights because they are so fun.

Ok..probably a stupid noob question but: Where do I go to watch match footage? A bing search sent me to a youtube video of Supes vs Doomsday, only he must have been playing on easy or very easy as his Doomsday hardly did anything let alone the type of beastliness I'm growing accustomed to from him.

I usually just search by the player. If I wanted to see some high level Sub-Zero play... I would just search Brady. You can also try searching the specific tournament. Evo is right around the corner. :16Bit

Perfect example of "you don't choose your character, your character chooses you"

I chose Cyborg before the game came out. I sucked with him. Couldn't get a damn thing going with him because of his primarily zoning style. Grundy catches my eye, and everything clicked. Never even HEARD of this guy before Injustice, but now he's my favorite.

I think we have streams on the site but i'm not sure if they are considered good players or not seeing as I am very new to fighting games

Well. Good news is I managed to beat Doomsday. Bad news now I have Supes.

Naw...Supes took me to the shed in our first meeting. Our second was much closer with him still getting a decisive victory. Our third match...I took HIM to the shed and won pretty handily...now the final series of video rolls and I prepare to go for it on Hard next time...which is still a ways away
