What's new

Is this what TYM is all about?

I thought TYM was all about getting a witty post or a funny picture on the first page of a thread so you can rack up dem likes...
I followed you into this thread for that specific reason.

On topic: Newbies need to learn some etiquette, and those of us that have been here could probably re learn some too. I'm not saying its everyone, but when a new person makes a thread asking about something "dumb", posting in it to trash the person isn't really helping anyone. If its such a waste of space, why keep it in the bumped section by posting that its dumb in the first place? This happens all too often.

I'm not saying we're all going to magically not argue. Its going to happen. We have plenty of hypothetical threads for that. Hell, we even have lifestyle threads where we can argue what soap is better for washing yourself. The point is, bashing someone who has just gotten here left and right isn't really gonna make them stay and potentially level up/get out to a tournament. Its all a matter of not forcing your opinion on others.

Its the new members... most of them just joined for injustice and are scrubs. They have a srk front page attitute
I was here since 2010 and just made a new account btw.
I think your using the term scrub wrong. I'm new to TYM and I'm not a scrub, but I am a noob at fighting games. Being a noob means I'm new to the games and am therefore not that good yet. A scrub is someone who does one move repeatedly and expects to win like full-screen Deathstroke and only using trait and riffle shots. Not handguns or low shots but riffle only. or like people who would expect to win at SF2 with E. Honda only using 100 hand slap. These people are also definded by their lack of desire to get better.

Back to the original thing, bitchers gonna bitch.

Everyone says "I try not to jump too much." Until they end up in a life or death situation and start jumping around like a maniac. :)
I didn't say "I try not to jump too much."

I said that I don't jump much. I's not that I'm trying not to jump it's just that I don't see much benefit in doing so with most of my characters. You kan decide for yourself I guess:

PS: My flash was fairly new and I wasn't really using him that day so that explains my suckyness with him. lol

Well I think it's an issue for a few reasons.

One is that like MK this seems like a fairly counter pick heavy game and some matchups are going to be very hard to win.

Two is that some characters who are more specialized feel overmatched by the characters who can function at all ranges (Superman, Aquaman, Black Adam) and if you're playing a character who you like it can be difficult to justify sticking with them.

Three is that this game as a descendent of MK and a game with low-ish execution and a popular comic book license is going to be picked up by a large audience who are going to be unfamiliar with the intricacies of fighting games and find tactics that are powerful to feel insurmountable.

Four is that the netcode is terrible and while I feel that there is nothing unbeatable offline, in the environment of the input delay ridden netcode there are strategies that are pretty abusive and depending on the delay virtually guaranteed. This can translate into people (often the same people who swear the game has playable netcode) saying that certain things are unbeatable and getting an audience who have only experienced competitive play online to agree.

So yeah cost of being a popular game really.
I hella read this in "Daria" voice
