Question from a fighting game noob

So, I'm not overly good at fighting games, but I like to think I'm pretty decent with Batman as I win probably 80-90% of online matches. He's really the only character I can play well and know combos with that I can pull off regularly.

But I feel like as there's so many great characters in Injustice that I should learn another, and I've tried most of them but just can't seem to pick any others up.

So, my question is do I need more than one main/a secondary, and any suggestions of who I should try?

Maining one character is fine, and Batman is super flexible so you should have no problem.

Other than that, if you want a secondary, just choose who you like the most.

Do you need more than one main? Nah. I always try to learn as many characters as possible though just to mix it up, the game won't get boring as fast if you can play like 10 characters. :)

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking, I enjoy Batman but to win I have to play him and so I play him over and over, I want to mix it up a bit and learn some others.

I'm just too bad of a player to pick anyone else up. ;_;

I have two characters that I feel I play pretty well, depending on who I'm facing I make my character pick. Say I'm playing rankeds and a 0/20 record opponent comes around, I won't use my best characters but if I'm playing casuals with a guy from TYM or someone from my friendlist I usually give it my hardest (and end up losing to most people on TYM anyway but that's how you get better). I'm sure you're not that bad, characters take time to learn. Just gotta be patient and practice. There's plenty of really fun characters in the game, I don't think playing just one character will do the game much justice. Try Grundy, hes pretty easy to use and really fun. :)

One main is always good. Then you'll really know your MUs. But for those tough MUs, it wouldn't hurt to have a second character that you would feel more comfortable with in those MUs that your first character didn't feel too comfortable playing.

Ah yeah, what two are you good with? Yeah - like I said, I win almost every online game with Batman and I feel like I can play him well.

I might do that, thanks. :)

Yeah, any suggestions?
Thinking Bane, Nightwing, Catwoman, Superman or Green Lantern. Or Batgirl when she's released of course, hehe.

The main reason to learn someone else would be if batman has some seriously bad matchups (which I'm not sure that he does yet).

But as an example: if for some reason doomsday, GL, and harley quinn had really advantageous matchups against batman, then what you'd want to do is sub-main a character that has an advantage or can at least fight evenly against them. If your secondary was somebody who also happened to share batmans weak matchups, then it'd be kinda pointless.

I feel like I play a solid Green Arrow and Grundy (don't get me wrong, I'm still really bad haha). It's true what Scarlett said though, you will learn MUs for that specific character better if you stick to him. The characters I play right now are Green Arrow, Grundy, Batman, Superman, Ares, Deathstroke (for counterpicking other Deathstrokes lol) and Green Lantern.

You should really play who you feel like, try them out and see who you like playing most. :) Pretty much all characters in this game are viable.
Yeah, they all seem pretty good. :)

Catwoman and Nightwing are considered really good at the moment. I can tell you from experience that Catwoman is really fun to use.
Sweet.

To either of you - too pick a secondary should I pick a favorite of mine (back story, not the way they play) or..?

I was gonna pick Grundy and Green Arrow before the game was released because I loved Grundy in Arkham City, he's a badass and when I first saw Green Arrow gameplay in 2012 he looked like fun so I wanted to play him since then. Unless you're all about winning I would pick a character you like but what it boils down to is, is he/she fun to play, so the gameplay is a big aspect. Find your favorite characters and try them out, if they don't fit your playstyle try other characters. You'll find someone you like other than Batman for sure.

Yes, you should probably pick somebody you like. It will really help keep your interest in them.

And what AeroGrunt said.
Thanks both of you. I'm sure once I pick a couple of other characters and just keep playing them I'll get the hang of them.

I main Batman. Bane and Nightwing are secondaries I am very comfortable with. I would just pick a character you like though. With enough practice you will be just as good anyways.

Personally I am just trying to learn every character. I am pretty dead set on maining Batgirl once she releases. :16Bit

Ha Morbid - that's exactly the same with me really. I main Batman, I play Nightwing second most, and I've been trying to learn Bane but I'm having trouble getting good with him. I also am going to try picking up Batgirl.

You will, remember to check the character forums here for tips, tech and combos. With the help of TYM you can learn characters really quickly once you get the hang of the game's mechanics. :)

That is exactly why I said it. I just figured we have a pretty similar play style. :16Bit

Oh. :) Any tips for Bane?

You're welcome!

I did the same in MK9.
Oh cool.
