Congrats, and good looks to Aris too showing that his win before wasn't a fluke.

WNF and the other weeklys need to start enforcing random stage select for game 1. Not just because Deathstroke getting Ferris literally 1/2 of the time is stupid, but because it's a bad look for the game to see almost nothing but Atlantis, Fortress, and Ferris.

my opinion on the subject is that the 50/50 is fine for the first match, but the loser gets to pick stage

i've had more than a few tournament matches end up in getting double counter picked cause i lost the 50/50 both times. It's really annoying going into a match thats manageable on paper, then i end up getting regulated by a coin flip :/

The stage can completely change how you approach a matchup. It's fine the way it is. If you force people to random you could be inadvertently giving someone an advantage.

What? No, you've got that backwards. By doing 50,50, you're ALWAYS giving someone an advantage, and a sizable one at that, because one person's always getting their best, most favorable stage. With random stage select you have to actually know how to play on all 18(?) stages, P1 and P2 sides, and this in effect minimizes the importance of the stage, because the chance of either player getting their most practiced or broken stage is very low, instead of guaranteed.

I don't like this either. This means you're still going to see the same 2-4 stages every match, and giving the loser the option to choose the stage means whoever won the coinflip g1 is at a massive advantage, because he's guaranteed to play 2 of the 3 games on his most imbalanced stage.

The loser should have the option to re-random, or risk a 50/50, as had been discussed here earlier on TYM.

interactables and stage lengths are going to effect MUs regardless. someone is always going to get the short end of the stick.

though having it at 100% random all the time is probably the best bet at this point

Nice to see my favorite hangout in the news. Nice placement by The Bearded One, Rip, and Rickstah.

NRS can add a new option to the menu for random stage select. Shouldn't be too difficult. Until then, tournament rule: you pick the first stage that pops up.

That's how we are doing it in the NE, Random first pick then loser picks.

If the loser of the first match picks then they have an unfair advantage going into the second. You shouldn't reward people for losing. There isn't anything wrong with the 50/50. It's not like deathstroke/adam gets any better for deathstroke if he gets ferris. He can just be more annoying.

EDIT: Plus, it's not like only one person can use the stage objects.
