Important little tidbit for matchup vs. Deathstroke because this matchup kinda sucks:

Deathstroke can reversal punish blocked splash with quick guns. Yay. :-/ But I am told that if you trait when hit, you can block the later gunshots. Don't have my copy of the game yet so I can't test myself, but I am told it works.

Doomsday ain't shit. Zone his ass and water shield on reaction to supernova, or just time your dodge. Save meter to either push block him or burst your water shield. Once he's beyond jump range he's pretty pathetic.

So far what I have on the raven matchup, I will have more info when I play it with Ermacio more:
You can somewhat zone her at full screen. Otherwise do not try to check with ground trident unless you read a dash or are anti airing, if it is blocked she will punish it. So far I am just playing patiently, baiting her tkp like move (soul crush i think) and then moving forward. once i get in range that I can punish soul crush, i just play footsies with b1 into block strings. I haven't used much water shield yet except on wakeup pressure.
 
Im having a lot of trouble with the grundy/deathstroke matchup. I try to counterzone and i get blown the fuck up and when i try to rush down grundy he just armors through fuckin everything. Any suggestions?

Deathstroke I can't comment on yet, I've played several decent DS players in tourney/casuals but I don't own the game yet to go into the lab and test specific punishes/ranges. The matchup SEEMS pretty even but it definitely requires some precision on Aquaman's part.

As for Grundy...in my experience, I think it's generally better not to attack a GOOD Grundy at all if you can help it. If you get a knockdown from a combo that leaves you close, and have a nice chunk of life to cover your ass on a wrong guess, feel free to test him a bit with b+1 or b+2 to see what his blocking tendencies are (just make sure you can FINISH any combos you start, esp. off b+12, you don't want to leave Grundy standing that close if you can help it). But if you're close to even on life, don't take risks. The longer Grundy stays standing while you attack him, the longer he has to figure out your attack patterns and either armor grab (if you stay on the ground) or anti-air (if you start jumping in). Just try to space yourself for d+2 anti-air and keep retreating carefully.

If you've kicked him out to safe splash(DB2)/trident (BF2) range, DON'T be a hero. Just be lame, stay on the outside, and space yourself for anti-air (if Grundy jumps) or reaction jump (if Grundy goes for a grab) when he gets past splash/trident range. The only thing you have to watch for at splash/trident range is swamp hands, and you can block that pretty easy on reaction as long as you don't get too reckless with splash/trident.

Aquaman vs bane is like 8-2 at best. Big D

The only thing he has is super and maybe some corner lockdown. Other than that, its a wrap.

Yeah he does not seem to have very good options against ground trident or b12. Idk about saying 8 2 yet, but it has the possibility to get there.
Basically it boils down to this. On block charge aquaman gets a mixup. On jumps aquaman will uppercut EVERY time. You can jump charge and EX trident for a full combo. I mean unless he gets you in the corner and you have 0 meter. Theres nothing he has.

To actually punish charge you have to jump over it which can be very risky. But if you do you just EX trident and combo. On block however you can check him with a free b2 into whatever or just b2 and hitconfirm it if it hits. You just gotta uppercut faster (scout the jump more) to easily beat out his air moves.

beating DS isn't hard it just requires PATIENCE and practice.
Ease your way in on guns, block read enhanced AR and punish sword flip on b12, if you can bait and assault rifle at mid range im pretty sure you can punish with b2scoop but depending on how you combo after that might get him back to full-mid range.
You should be able to dash in close after that just be careful on wake up.

just today i fought my first ares and i was shocked how much damage he can do with this dumb reset he has. Is that ground pound unblockable by any chance if not is there anyway from getting hit by it and getting blown up all the time. If there is anyway to avoid it, it would be a great help not just to me but to all players out there.

What do you guys think about Aquaman vs. Raven? Yesterday I ran into a decent Raven and was getting my butt handed to me because IDK the MU. It felt like every time I tried to do something I would get gravity squeezed and her pressure was hard to deal with.

It's unblockable, but you can jump to avoid it. It's also slow to start up so you might be able to stuff it with a wake up attack. Aquaman in particular can probably water shield on wake up to just absorb the hit.

I agree with dabuz up here. I was getting it handed to me by a raven online earlier. I couldnt do ANYTHING. it was pretty embarassing. However....i did beat up on a grundy pretty hard. i was in the corner and he threw random super out so i just started b1 2 into df+1 mb to keep him back. it worked out pretty well. he didnt get his grab and i didnt lose the match. however....good batmen, killer frost, and raven seem to be my issue at the moment. i suppose i need to learn to use that parry more.

Im free to batman too. He can be retarded and just jump at me all day online and i miss time d2 pretty often because that god damn ji2, or 3 seem to reach really fucking far.
